Virgin River Hotel Casino, Mesquite

We ended up here because the Eureka was sold out. There were bugs/ants in my room, and I have bites on my legs from my one night stay. I couldn't muster up the courage to "sleep" in the bed, so I sat up in a chair all night. Complained to front desk upon check-out, but no compensation was offered. My son was in the room next door, and bugs were spotted there as well. I would not recommend this property.

We stayed at the Virgin River and the room that we had was very nice almost too nice. After a nice hot day i returned to the room for a cat nap. When I awoke I went to co to the casino and get something to eat. When I opened the door a little friend tried to come in (a taranchala). Needless to say after that experience I needed to visit the bathroom quite unexpectedly.

My room looked like something from the Bate's Motel in Psycho, smelled like a kennel, was furnished with Salvation Army rejects, and a TV from my childhood with a 99 cent remote control. The TV broke down several times a day for the week I was there but the staff told me to "unplug it for 30 seconds and then re-plug it" to get it to work. The whole time I was at the Virgin River I never saw ANYBODY win a jackpot. The locals told me the management were jerks - especially some clown named Lex - and the place was in Chapter 11. Maybe that's why my stay there sucked. Avoid this place!

Great Casino and Food, pet rooms available, have stayed here many times in the past, excellent Golf courses in the area. Remodeled rooms since I was here last, nice touch, will be back, Thanks.

If you have never been here, it is really a motel, across the parking lot, but the casino has made improvements, like the sports book, the food is cheap, the drinks are free and service was generally good, I gambled (and won oddly enough), and I asked to be comped for my room, after a brief discussion with management, I was for the whole 6 day stay. I was in a group of 20 golfers, I think all were comped completely or at least in part. This isn't the MGM Grand or any other big name casino in Vegas, but the rooms are clean, the pool is refreshing, and the casino is open 24/7....what more do you want or need ?

On our way to Zion National Park from Las Vegas, we saw all those Virgin River Casino billboards advertizing 24.99/night rate. So when we changed our plan at Bryce Canyon National Park from camping to a day auto tour because of high wind, we thought we could stop at Virgin River River hotel for one night. I did not call ahead since I did not have the hotel's phone number handy and I had to stop for gas any way. At the front desk, I was quoted 79.99/night for the cheapest room available, which I wasn't impressed, to say the least, since it was a Wednesday. Instead of staying there, I called the phone number on my Harrah's Total Reward card and got a room for 25.00 at the Imperial Palace hotel, which was just some 90 mile further south. When I got home, I checked Virgin River hotel casino out on Internet and learned of its bankruptcy filing in March, 2010. To me, it wasn't a surprise at all.

We were told that we would have a room for 24.99/ night and that they would give us twenty dollars gambling money. Upon our arrival ,they wouldn't give it to us because it wasn't noted on our reservation. We called the supervisor on the house phone and was told too bad. We told them we wouldn't stay there again and they replied OK. We have had reservations there before and they could not find it upon our arrival even though we had a confirmation. Desk help has a bad attitude also. Not a good way to do business.

Someone should sue the Black Brothers for false advertising. That other person who was a victim of the "advertised cheap rooms", is not alone. I too saw the signs on the I-15 and the prices DO NOT say with reservation only. One time I showed up at 3am, and the parking lot was empty. Upon trying to register I was told the hotel was sold out. I asked why the parking lot was so empty and I was just ignored.
