Wouldn't go back.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/21/09
I was quite disappointed as the photos on line gave the appearance suggesting a much more updated facility than it was. True, each room has a kiva, which is a nice touch. Their are instructions on exactly how to use it, yet our room filled with enough smoke that we had to sleep with the windows open in an attempt to let the smoke escape our unit. When we mentioned it, she said it never did really work quite right??? Hello?? Breakfast servings were modest (even the sausage was great, it would have been nice to have been served a full piece vs half!) There was quite a bit of work that needed to be done around the place. Views were poor at best. I must say, they were quite resourceful and did help with dinner reservations and suggestions on what activities we might want to consider during our weekend. I was very disappointed on the overall value. I wish I would have read these reviews BEFORE booking our stay!

Great Historic Inn near Taos Plaza
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/6/09
My family and I just returned from a trip to Northern New Mexico and I must say our stay at Inn on La Loma Plaza was by far the best of the three places we stayed. The owners Peggy and Jerry were very helpful when we needed advice on what to see and do and places to dine with our teens! We really enjoyed this quiet historic inn with it's beauitful grounds and great location near Taos Plaza. We highly recommend Inn on La Loma Plaza in Taos, New Mexico.

Outstanding Inn with great hospitality!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/28/09
Recently stay at Inn on La Loma Plaza with a friend and had a great time! It was an easy walk from this historic walled Hacienda to the Plaza with many fine restaurants and gallerys. Breakfasts were great and our room had a wood burning fireplace, a wounderful bed and great mountain views! Peggy and Jerry helped us with lots of suggestions and directions to many interesting places and hiking trails. Could not have asked for a better experience! We will be back! Jan and Tom

Inn on La Loma Plaza - A Lover's Paradise
By Marlis, 2/27/09
We have stayed with Peggy and Jerry at the Inn on La Loma Plaza three times now, and each time we find something new to love about it. The rooms are wonderful, clean and comfy, each with woodburning fireplaces to make for a romantic evening. With charming balconies and grounds and an outdoor hot tub, it can be a lover's paradise. Peggy and Jerry are great innkeepers, and make a wonderful breakfast in the sunny patio room every morning. The beds are big and comfy with warm and fluffy comforters to keep the night chill away. Peggy is always willing to make reservations or recommend places to visit, and she keeps a nice supply of movies and books to enjoy should you decide to stay in. On my last visit, knowing I was recovering from pneumonia, she asked "What can I do for you today to make you comfortable?" We won't stay anywhere else in Taos when we visit. The Inn on La Loma Plaza is our casa away from our other casa. Highly recommended ***** Marlis and Jerry

do not waste your money here
By Kelli Farber, 8/4/08
I have to seriously question a few of the previous reviews posted here on this site. What on earth were their expectation levels? This "inn" is a dump. The rooms are tiny and unclean. Dogs were running around off-leash. The management/owner's manner and performance was not professional and quite frankly, verged on rude. This is not a romantic, comfortable inn. Advertisements seen elsewhere on-line are very, very, very misleading. If you are a middle class family concerned with price, I would stay at the Comfort Suites or the Hampton Inn (if I remember correctly these rooms ranged from $109 to 130 a night) which are about a mile or so south of the Taos Plaza but these accommodations are newer, cleaner, and way more reasonably priced. (Do not stay at the Best Western Kochina Lodge, it's also dump). If you can easily afford the La Loma Inn prices then I'd stay at the El Monte Sagrado which is a 4- star resort spa about a half mile (super easy walk) from the plaza. Just make your reservation via their 800 number which goes to a reservation call center, great prices that way....cheaper than the La Loma Inn prices. After checking in and checking out at the La Loma Inn and the Kochina we ended up staying at the Sagrado for $210 a night.

Maybe was quaint, now dilapidated
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/3/08
Looked and sounded good on the internet so we booked for two nights while still on the road, even though the price was fairly steep ($225 night for two adults and child). Owner claimed they had very limited availability (although the place seemed empty; probably limited availability of rooms that were inhabitable!). Arrived late in the day during spring break so limited other options in town. Entire facility is dilapidated, dirty and in disrepair. Location is somewhat close to plaza area but long walk across some busy streets. Our room overlooked some noisy run down apartments. Complained the next morning about disrepair, cleanliness, etc. and did not get any positive response from the owner. Decided to leave and was told that we had to pay the full rate for two days anyway. Pointed out the misrepresentations on the website and facility problems, and asked for at least a discount. Was told that if they could rebook the room, they would only charge us the cancellation fee. Not friendly, not service oriented and certainly not a place to stay.

Superb relaxation.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/14/07
My husband and I had the pleasure of staying four days in this lovely inn. I disagree with the poor reviews. We had a timely check in, we were asked if we needed help with our luggage, and Jerry even carried more wood to our room. Peggy made reservations for our evening meals, and provided us with a gourmet breakfast experience for 3 mornings. Taos I don't know if I loved, but The Inn at La Loma could be a destination in itself. Yes the Hot Tub was out of order, but the Steam Shower in our room more than made up for it. We had internet to touch base and we shall definately return, as well as tell everyone whom will listen about this wow experience. Thanks to Peggy and Jerry for a wonderful honeymoon experience.

Five stars?
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/11/07
We stayed here because of the great reviews in a number of publications and were disappointed. Hot tub was not working, no help with luggage, small, older room with limited amenities. Delicious breakfast and nice staff, but I'd stay closer to town next time. Friends stayed at Casa Bienvenidas, and their room was bigger and they were quite pleased with the service.

There are better places to stay in Taos.
By Borris, 11/2/06
Breakfast was delicious and service was good, but the facilities were not as advertised. Check-in was not especially well-managed. Hot tub was out of service and rooms were subpar - definitely not comfortable, with tiny beds (not the size advertised) and groaning plumbing. We saw rooms in other hotels/inns, closer to town, that were nicer and less expensive.

Disappointed with Inn Policy
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/21/06
We booked a room at the Inn on Saturday, June 3rd for a Friday, July 7th stay. On Sunday June 4th we found out that our father was being placed in Hospice. I called the Inn on Monday June 5th to verify the cancellation policy after we were told this devastating news. I pointed out that when I booked the reservation I had been told that I had until June 23rd to cancel for a refund. I assumed this meant a full refund. After sharing with the Inn the family crisis that had arisen, I was told that if I cancelled I would be charged $25.00. I could not believe that would happen but today my statement proved it to be true. We were shocked! Yahoo users.
