This is the absolute best bed and breakfast we have ever visited, anywhere. The hosts, Jim & Pam, were incredibly nice, helpful and accomodating. The food was as good as it gets...we couldn't believe the breakfasts!!! The layout and location were awesome...peaceful, serene, scenic and also convenient. If you are visiting the Taos area we can't imagine why you would want to stay anyplace else.
Our family of 4 spent three nights in the "La Familia" room which was perfect because there was an additional room for the girls. This B and B is clean and in a perfect picture setting. Our room was tastefully decorated. No kitsch. The breakfasts were so delicious and plentiful that we skipped lunch every day. During the day we hiked, mountain biked or river rafted. In the evening before going out to dinner we enjoyed the pool, hot tub and the tennis courts. Pam is up front about the courts not being in good condition but it was perfect for us. We hope she'll keep them. We highly recommend Salsa del Salto!
Salsa del Salto is located just outside the town of Taos towards the ski area and is one of the nicest locations in the area to stay. A great place to unwind and relax and still have everything close by to do.
We started our stay in the town of Taos at a funky B&B, but then moved on to Salsa del Salto. The minute my husband and I got there, we knew we'd have to stay longer than we had planned. The location is special: a ten minute drive from the center of Taos, just past the small town of Arroyo Seco, and surrounded by open spaces and fabulous mountains. The room was bright, clean, and loaded with tasteful touches of the Southwest, down to the shower curtains. Pam and Jim anticipated our every need, starting with her asking if we had any dietary restrictions when I called to make the reservation. When Jim heard that we were planning on hiking one day, he gave us walking sticks, a day pack, water, and even chewing gum to stay hydrated. Breakfasts are bountiful, with a different hot entree every morning. There are even full meal "appetizers" on weekends, like chile or chicken adobado! There's also a good hot tub--which was a real plus after our mountain hike--and a large size pool as well as tennis and croquet courts. This is definitely a place we'd go back to. If you want quiet, lovely surroundings and caring, attentive innkeepers, this is the place for you!
We visited over ten Taos area B+B and choose the right one at Salsa del Salto. A short walk to Arroyo Seco and a short drive to Taos or the Ski Valley. Quite location with lots to do on the grounds - tennis, pool, hot tub, lawn sports. Breakfast was great and the owners helpful.
I've been there as a couple and as a large family gathering. Great B+B and lots to do in the area - recommend highly and a great way to spend a vacation.
The balconies and great room provided opportunities to view the surrounding mountains. The breakfast was outstanding and the hosts are quite helpful! The rooms are comfortable but the pillows were too big for my taste.
My wife and I recently stayed at the Sala Del Salto. The accomodations could not have been better; great food, awesome location and the service provided by Jim and Pam was over the top.
Jim prepared a 4th of July barbecue feast (at no charge) for any and all guests interested. Jim loves to cook and it shows in the quality of the preparation and portion sizes.
The location is condusive to shopping, hiking, biking and many other outdoor activities. What better way to spend a summer day; hiking in the morning, and relaxing by the pool in the late afternoon, enjopying the mountain breeze.
I highly recomend the Salsa Del Salto.
This is a wonderful Bed and Breakfast ideally located between Taos and the Ski Valley. Pam and Jim are great hosts and looked after our every need. The breakfasts are delicious and just what you need before a days skiing. We spent Christmas 2006 at the Salsa Del Salto and we were even treated to a christmas dinner that would put most restaurants to shame. The room was spacious and clean and the location is perfect giving us the chance to spend time in Taos or in the ski valley only 8 miles away. We had our two Children with us and they enjoyed every minute. We have already booked a return visit and would recommend it to anyone.
We stayed at Salsa del Salto during Christmas 2006. It was unbelievable and surpassed all of our expectations. Hosts Jim and Pam were wonderful and prepared the most wonderful gourmet breakfasts we've ever had...a great culinary experience! The rooms were very cozy and clean and the mountain views were out of this world. Taos Ski Valley was only a very short drive from our inn. You won't be disappointed here...we'll definitely return for another stay!
This place was beautiful. The food was delicious and Jim and Pam were very friendly. I felt very relaxed and comfortable there and would definately return!! Pool, hot tub, fireplaces, at the base of Taos Ski Valley - what more could you want!!
