Super 8 Front Royal, Front Royal

Our experence at Super 8 Front Royal was Great. We found staff very friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and fresh. Breakfast was exactly what we expected from our conversation with staff when we made our reservation. Our dogs enjoyed the stay too. We were here in the fall of 2009 and are returning this spring. The staff at the Front Royal super 8 was helpful and friendly. We stayed at the Super 8 because it was the only hotel in the area, I could find that allowed pets. I did not realize I would be paying $10 a night for each pet. I have stayed at the Marriot with my dogs before and did not have to pay such an expensive fee. I was unhappy about the fee but the room was not worth the money I spent. The mattress was hard, the bedspread had burn holes in it and the bathroom was filthy. We will not go back.

Overpriced at $97.00 and was told no other discounts applied at check in. Corporate, AAA, Military etc.. Hotel Clean on Outside but filthy inside, Musty smell. Roaches in room 312, Mildew or Mold in Shower. Coffee and Donuts gone by 8am but advertised till 9am. Attendant notified, came over and put three more donuts in tray. At least six people waiting. "We all joked don't eat to much" Would not recommend to anyone.

When we first walked into the lobby it was stuffy and there was an overwhelming smell of cigarette smoke. The elevator and hallway was very warm and stuffy, the cigarette smell was even worse than in the lobby. Our room however, did not smell like cigarette smoke, but it was also warm and stuffy. There was only one set of towels in the bathroom. When we went down for the continental breakfast, there was three English muffins and two small donuts left. The man that was at the front desk when we checked in was very nice, but the lady on duty in the morning was not acknowledging or speaking to the guests as they came into the lobby for breakfast. Overall, we were very disappointed with this Super 8 and would not stay here again or recommended this Super 8 to anyone.

I tried to save money by making reservations here instead of our usual hotel (the photos looked good on the Internet), but after sleeping fitfully and fully clothed on a questionably clean bedspread that I didn't want my bare skin to touch, we left the hotel after half a night to go to the Hampton Inn (a much better choice, located at 9800 Winchester Ave in Front Royal). I couldn't wash up because the towels had stains on them (at my request they brought up more towels, also stained), the beds did not smell clean, and the bathroom was dirty. The only reason this didn't get one star was because the night clerk was friendly and cheerful.
