Would definetely stay again!
By ,
We just got back from our Disney vacation and were very impressed by the Port Orleans Riverside staff. Our housekeeper was excellent. She had made a washcloth animal for us the first day and after that created various scenes with the stuffed animals we had with us. (We came back one evening to find them sitting on the bed watching TV.) The room was always spotless after a visit from the housekeeper. Our check-in process was painless. Check-out was automatic and when I called bell services to help us transport our bags to our car, the porter showed up at our room within 5 minutes. We ate at both the sit-down restaurant and the food court. Both places the food was really good. I recommend getting one of the dining plans if only because then you don't need to look at how much the food costs as you buy it. The only downside is that the resort in rather sprawling, so you may have a bit of a walk to get around. Then again, you are at Disney World, you're going to do plenty of walking at the parks too. Overall, I would have no hestitations in staying there again.

It was a very good experience
By ,
We like the hotel wich is near a river, more like a lake, and the view is so beautifull. Just arriving my kids were excited to play in the arcade games in the lobby. The check inn was ultra fast and with absolutelly no problems. The bus service in and out all disney amusement parks was excellent, allways on time, allways fun to take the ride. We took a boat missisipi themed, to go to downtown disney, and in the boat on the way back to the hotel we had the chance to enjoy the fireworks, and it was magical. There is a bar and a cafeteria, they were good and fast, we could buy our dinners in the cafeteria and take them to the hotel room. There is also another restaurant but we did'nt went there. For every group of rooms, wich they call Alligator and other names river related, there is a very good swiming pool, which was full of water and no people like almost all the time, because everyone is in the park, so is like having your own private pool right outside your room. The rooms were super comfortable, very clean, my kids loved the rooms. The clean lady was so kind her name was myriam and she everyday made us a micke mouse like towel that used for our toothbrushes, so when we arrived every night from the park, we found this little and very nice surprise. The store is packed with all things related to Disney at nice prices. So, we had the best experience in this hotel and I sure recomend it to everyone.

Down Home Country Goodness
By ,
My family and I stayed at the Port Orleans Riverside because of our party size. POR is one of the only hotels that can accomodate a party of five. Thinking that we were being forced to stay where we didn't want to (we were looking for the economy rates) we weren't expecting what we got. We had the most enjoyable time we have ever had. The sprawling complex can be a bit exhausting, but it is extremely beautiful. We spotted many wild birds, squirrels, rabbits, amoung beautiful trees and plants. The main building is designed as an old steamship station, complete with old south style decorations. The staff was really helpful with anything that we needed, just like an upscale luxury hotel. Fultons is the hotel store, and they have almost anything you could ask for. Upon leaving the main building you encounter a small harbor full of small boats and ducks. To your left you then see Boatrights (a nice restaurant) and then the main food-court type dining area. The food court is wonderful at breakfast, otherwise we do not know as we were at the parks. There's even a gristmill style wheel. After crossing the bridge (across the Sassagoula) toward your room you pass the main swimming pool (complete with waterslide) and Muddy Waters Poolside Bar. Our room had two full size beds and a trundle bed (sleeping one). There was plenty of room for the five of us, and every day our room seemed to look much nicer than we had left it (could've been we were exhausted.)

Housekeeper was wonderful
My family waited and anticipated a fun week of disney. Day one was great. Day two my daughter and I were sick from too much sun.. dont forget to apply LOTS of sunscreen! The maid was so compassionate. She not only cleaned our room spotlessly each day but added extra towels, arranged our toys in a fun way and even added ice to the cooler we had.(room is equipped with a small fridge )We made sure to ask her if she would be working on our day of departure to give her a generous tip of appreciation. The atmosphere of Alligator Bayou is one of romance and serenity in the evening. There is even a horse and carriage ride if you choose. The food is above our pricerange but we were at disney after all. We would return here for sure and request the same building.. 16. and hopefully have OUR housekeeper again. We would look forward to seeing rabbits in the morningtime, listening to the songs of all the birds, ducks in the ponds and even the few deer we spotted in nearby ponds on the busride over to the Magic Kingdom.

Excellent hotel
By ,
We stayed at Riverside in early March and loved it! The staff was very friendly. The rooms were clean and housekeeping always did a great job. I love the restaurants there and the general store. My boys loved the Old man island pool and I really liked the river that ran thru the hotel especially since the ferry could take us to Downtown Disney. I would definatley recommend Riverside to anyone.

POR is heavenly
By ,
Stayed there for 9 nights and it was great. Stayed in Alligator Bayou section and the housekeeping was fantastic. The food court and restaurant are both great places to eat. The grounds are beautiful to walk around. The bus to the parks were great. The boat to Downtown Disney is a don't miss.

I have stayed at Port Orleans back when it was Dixing Landing and I loved it then. My husband who was questionable wanted a place that would be nice and quite but not break our budget.when we got there it was Memorial Day weekend and they told us it was packed full they had never been that packed at one time. But everthing including our rooms was amazing it was comfortable, quite and beautiful.Service we can say was great because besides checking in we never need it.My husband loved it some much we are going back this year in April. This place was our first choice.

Best Moderate Resort
By ,
Port Orleans Riverside was the first Disney Resort I stayed at (back when it was Dixie Landings). Port Orleans is perfect for any group that doesn't want to spend a ton on a room. The rooms are fantastic for the price. The pool is AMAZING. The food court is possibly the best food court in any Disney Resort. I make a special trip every year just to eat there. The resort is close to Downtown Disney. It can be a little of a pain if your room is far away from the lobby. This has happened to me a few times, but wansn't that big of an issue. The Resort Shop is pretty big for a moderate resort. Easily the biggest. Takeing the boats to Downtown Disney is highly recommended. It's fast and easy. The buses are usually promt. Overall, if you are looking to save some money, but still get that Disney feeling, Port Orleanse Riverside is perfect.

A wonderfully comfortable and casual Disney Hotel
By ,
While not nearly as amazing or famous as the more expensive Disney-run resorts such as the Grand Floridian, Polynesian, Contemporary and Yacht & Beach Clubs, this is the place to go to experience the magic of staying at a Disney resort on a budget. Mind you, in is not cheap, but it is second only to staying at the deluxe Disney Resorts on a trip to the Happiest Place on Earth. The property is beautiful and peaceful, and actually more relaxing than the other incredible and grand Disney resorts. I went in January 2008- and vibrant pink and orange flowers were blooming everywhere throughout the landscaped forests that flow endlessly between and around the resort buildings. There are numerous pools- some hidden and small surrounded by southern forest and soaring palm trees, others filled with children and overflowing with slides and fountains. It is very quaint, and the rooms are comfortable and very clean, albeit a little bit small. but it is themed very well, and at night you can even take a hose drawn carriage ride through the resort, reliving the days of Tom Sawyer. Also, you can take buses from the resort to any place or theme park you would like to go to for free! Overall, this is a great place to stay for families on a Disney vacation, and the magic will follow you even after you leave the parks when you enter your rooms, and you don't have to pay an outrageous price for the indescribable feeling.
