Gran Melia Caracas Hotel, Caracas

In this hotel the service is slow. Installations are kind of average (at best), and the staff in general isn't very helpful. They should be more helpful because Caracas is not exactly prepared for tourists and at least a few guidance would have been appreciated about what to do or not do. Melia needs to improve this a lot. Prices are as high as elsewhere but service is not as good as most elsewhere.

This hotel was a big let down... Bad service, over used rooms, rude staff, and overall, overpriced

When I was in this hotel, they kept charging my bill with services and goods I never requested. I would not get a refund either. Thanks to this my stay costed some four hundred dollars more than what it should have costed.

This hotel is a run down place and the service is not good. This hotel is more expensive than what it should be. Avoid this hotel if possible.

I was here last month for two days and I must say that this hotel is not very good at all. The staff is not attentive, room service is poor, and payment was a pain (they had summed up the wrong amount for me). The facilities and the room in general felt a bit run down as well. Overall I cannot recommend this hotel.

The Gran Melia is an excellent Hotel. The majoirty of the staff speak English and are more than willing to help. Room service is very fast and there is a great choice of restaurants to chose from all servicng good food. The rooms are spacious and well maintianed. The gRan Melia is my first choice whenever I am in Caracas and has to be one of the best Hotels I have ever stayed at. A bit expensive, but only for Venezuela and is well worth the money to saty in such a great hotel. In fact there are 3 Star Hotels in the UK that cost more.

I think that it is safe as long as you stay inside. The swimming pool was under maintenance when I was there, so, I did not have the chance to enjoy it. Wire-less internet is only available in the lobby and it is very slow. If you do not speak Spanish, It will be a big problem going out alone in this area. Driving in Caracas is very dangerous and boring.

it was amazing ive been to many hotels here and its just the best of all next to the marriot, but the staff is freindly and people are great

Omg it was awful... i cant believe it. the service was horrible. i asked for a case of beer 6 times before they brought me a bottle. A BOTTLE! i wanted a case. The hotel is located in a very bad place. It is right next to the highway and you can hear every car go by. the cleanliness is horrible. it is dirty. there was a cochroach in my room when i walked in.and they charge 180$ a night when it should be 5.
