dont do it

My wife and kid and I stayed there for 3 nights. We arrived a little earlier than check in time and figured lets see if we can atleast get a view of what to expect. The lady at the desk from dayshift was very rude so we did not go any further and just figured we would go to sixflags for the day as planned anyway and come back later at night. The evening girls at the front desk were really nice and friendly especially the really tall lady. when we checked in we were down for a price that was 20 dollars more for the one night but the other 2 nights were correct. I mentioned who I reserved with and got no help as to the price which i brought up again at check out keep in mind there were no vacancies at other places to begin with so we were stuck. I was also told when I reserved the room that 1 night plus tax would be withdrawn from my checking account 3 days prior to check in. Well they withdrew / held the money 2 days after i reserved it and we still had 2 weeks until check in. The room we had was on on bottom floor had a very musty/damp and mildew smell. The rugs were dirty enough if you walked from bathroom to door and back your socks would be soiled with dirt. The outdoor pool was big and clean and location was very good and walking distance from everything that is about it. The indoor pool was very small about 8ft wide and 10 ft long. The restaurant the service was poor and place was dirty. I just think they were short staffed. I would suggest mohican or econo lodge and this would be my last place to stay if given a choice. Not to take anything away from some of the front desk people and the housekeepers. DON'T DO IT!!!

Just fine - and fun especially if you love Elvis
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/31/09
The motel was clean and well run, the breakfast was a good low price, the indoor pool was smallish but fine. The outdoor pool was lovely. A tidy place. We loved the plastic palm trees and tiki finery. Sorry we didn't partake of the entertainment in the lounge, with the floor show or comedian, but maybe next time. The indoor waterfall was charming-- Elvis would have approved. There is apparently an Elvis contest in Lake George, so this would be an appropriate place to get in the mood.

i loved how freindly all the staff was, including the front desk. they were helpful an there was always someone on there so i was able to get my questions answered. the hotel was very clean and all the staff was helpful and curtious with me. they had a good idea of the area, and were to eat with in the villiage and outside. plus they are ten minutes from everything in town great location

Stains, Mold and Mildew...Oh My!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/04/07
First of all, the price for what you pay here is very high. There is visible mold and mildew throughout the rooms, check out the mattresses. There is mildew on the shower curtains, on the main curtain of the windows, around the rims of the sink and toilets. The carpets arent new, they are stained and if you pull them up bet you will see mold. Dont blame the housekeeper, they do their job. And for $7.50/hr, they do their best. If the owner took more pride in the guests rooms instead of trying to make the resort itself more appealing, this place would be worth staying at, but the prices that you pay is just too high.

DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/05/07
This place was a dump! So overpriced and we were better off staying at a roadside motel. The website and phone staff tell blatent lies about the accomodations. The rooms are NOT newly carpeted, in fact, they stunk. We could not stand to be in the bathroom b/c the smell of urine was unbearable (Shower curtain filthy). Our room was left unlocked with shades open after the staff"cleaned" for everyone who walked by to see our belongings. TV and fridge did not work. Pool area unkempt, cleaning staff very rude and did not know area and didn't speak english. Was told it was a 2min. walk to village, actually about 6 LONG bocks. Desk manager was nice and refunded 1 nights stay b/c we had to leave early and 50 bucks after we complained how bad the room was. She was the only nice person. This HOTEL RUINED OUR VACATION CAUSING US TO LEAVE EARLY. WE COULDN'T STAND TO STAY THERE ONE MORE NIGHT. We travel often and this place was the pits!

Howard Johnson Tiki - OK
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/30/06
We stayed in one of there suite rms, we only had a few problems. The shower in the rm was bad no pressure and hot/cold when other people taking showers and was very small hard to move around. Very noisy in the halls and rms next to you. However, breakfast is very good and outdoor pool is very nice. The tiki is high in price, next time we go to lake george we will stay somewhere else.

By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/01/05
the moment i walked in i was greeting by a aloha. front desk was funny, calm , and most of all kind. i even got to meet the manager and she spent 5 minutes with me telling me about the area. thank you tiki staff , ill be back your number 1 in my book. p. s. overheard manager talking to a staff member and was telling them that customers are to be treated as family . that was nice to overhear.
