Fairfield Inn by Marriott Bangor, Bangor

Let's see, lots of cable channels, decent breakfast when you're not dodging unattended children and, oh yes, unable to relax and enjoy the pool and hot tub due to 14 hours (the duration the pool is open) of screaming, unattended, wild, diving, running, jumping children - even though signs are posted all over: "NO Jumping, NO Diving, NO running, Children MUST be attended by adult ( and I hope they are assuming responsible adult) and NO children in pool area after 10:00pm.When I could no longer stand the the screaming children at 10:30pm, I left, changed and told the front desk. I was told "we are a kid-friendly Inn." Well, I made my reservations there because I needed some R and R after working long hours for months and was looking forward to visiting Bangor and relaxing in the pool area. Bangor was charming, the pool area was a headache (which I did get from all the screaming.) I will NEVER stay there again. I could have had more relaxing time at a much cheaper place. I am very disappointed in the Fairfield Marriott. This place does not deserve the Marriot name.

We go up to Bangor six to eight times a year for business. This is our preferred hotel. We ask for and receive a quiet room; parking is plentiful; the pool is nice (I have never found it too cold.) The breakfast is OK if you don't get there while hordes of hungry children are eating. Free newspaper, and good local advice, if needed. It's adjacent to a movie complex, although I don't think I have ever wanted to see what is playing. All in all, a good buy and very reliable for an inexpensive chain. I have had far worse experiences at five star hotels for which I was paying BIG bucks. This is a nice place to stay.

It is a GREAT place to stay! I just love to go to Maine, and I dont even mind staying there for a long time instead of going out all the time. I will stay there every time I come to Bangor.

My Huband Daughter And I Stay At this hotel 3 to 4 times ayear and we have not been dissapointed. This is a good hotel for kids because of the pooland great for penny-pinching husbands,with it's continental breakfast and great service!! The rooms are very comfortable also!!! We are going back Saturday as a matter of fact...hope to see you their!! A "MAINE"iac

What you see is what you get at a typical 'chain hotel'. Marriott does nice job with its limited service group. Found the Fairfield to be quite nice. Rooms are a little small but price is right and continental breakfast was good.
