Harbor Court, a Kimpton Hotel, San Francisco

I stayed here this past week. The rooms are nothing like their pictures or advertising. I paid $197.00 (plus deposit)for a room the size of my bathroom at home. My associate stayed in another room. His room was considerably larger. I did have a nice view from the window of a brick wall. I have paid much less for hotels and recieved a much bigger & nicer room. The Rio in Las Vegas and the Westin Bonaventure in Los Angeles, to name a few. I have pictures of the room I stayed in to verify its smallness. I was cramped and could not move comfortably about the room. The bathroom was horribly small. I had to squeeze in between the bathroom sink and wall to get to the toilet. It was completely impossible to stand in front of the toilet. When I took a shower, the room was so small, that the windows and mirrors fogged up and even with the air conditioning on and windows open the windows and mirrors still were fogged for more than 30 minutes. I am greatly disappointed in this 'top of the line', 'high class', accommadation. I hope to never stay at this hotel again. It is the worst thing I ever spent money on in my life. I was here on business. I will make sure my business never does business with this hotel again. To top it off, we paid with cash and had to wait a huge amount of time for our deposits, from check out time (12noon) to 6:00pm. This almost caused my business associate and myself to miss our flight home. JTH

Location is a minute's walk to the Embarcadero and right next to restaurants and bars --- and the YMCA, where guests have free access. I had a queen-sized bed and the room was small but perfectly adequate -- and clean. There was no view, but so what? I was there only to shower and sleep. There was a guest-only wine and beer hour in the lobby at no extra charge. The staff was polite and offered to stow my luggage after checking out. I had no problems at all and hope that Hotwire puts me there next time.

We stayed here the night before going to a Giants game at ATT park. We had a small, clean, nicely decorated room. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The view from the room was fabulous-the Bay Bridge, joggers on the Embarcadero, fishing pier right in front. Nice wine reception from 5-6 pm, cookies at 9, and coffee in the am in the lovely lobby. I especially liked the safe feeling neighborhood, for walking or jogging. We walked to shopping, great restaurants, Farmers' Market at the Ferry Building. Foodies' heaven!! Also, easy walk or trolley to ATT park, or Fisherman's Wharf. Good price. I can't wait to go back. Highly recommend this place.

The Harbor Court hotel was great. The room was small, but decorated well, had a flat screen TV, and a huge closet. The shower was wonderful and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The location is great - right in the financial, short trip to North Beach or SBC Park, and great restaurants near by. I would definitely stay here again!

The room was tiny, but we really didn't spend much time in there anyway. Wine tasting happy hour was a nice touch. Close to Market St. and the Embarcadero where you can get easy access to transportation.

1. Horribly rude and inhospitable staff.... some of the worst I have ever seen in all my years of travel. Were these people trained at American Airlines or what??? 2. They dont tell you that the only rooms with the view in the photos are the suites. ALL THE OTHER ROOMS ARE LOOKIKNG OUT ON THE ADJACENT BUILDING INDUSTRIAL AIR CONDITIONER GENERATRORS and the noise is horrible. 3. If I had not pre-paid for this stay I would have moved over to the HOTEL VITALE a block away which is new, much more chic , has better views AND is priced the same.

Very nice hotel - Great location, great view and very nice Wednesday night Beer, Wine and Sake get-together (free!).

The rooms in this hotel are well kept and clean, but they are very small. However, they are more than adequate if you don't plan on spending much time in the room. The location of the hotel is excellent, a couple of blocks from either Market St. and the Emabarcadero. You can easily find public transportation (MUNI, BART, Ferries) or a cab to anywhere in the Bay Area that you want to go.
