Ok if you are elderly!

My husband and I stayed at Nidd Hall for our 1st wedding anniversary. The hall, grounds and leisure facilities are fantastic however we encountered a number of problems. The room wasn't cleaned satisfactorily. We had booked a double room and were allocated a twin and upon contacting reception, a housekeeper arrived to push the beds together!
You are crammed in like sardines in the restaurant. There was just 6 inches between our table and the next. Drinks are very expensive and cutlery was dirty on two seperate occasions.
The other problem for us was the average age of the guests. We are in our early 30's and the pictures in the brochure depict young couples. This IS NOT the case. We were by far the youngest couple there as most guests were elderly. This meant that the entertainment that is included is geared towards the elderly residents...i.e. tea dances, waltz and foxtrot on the dance floor.
BEWARE - despite reception advertising opening times of 7.30am, you cannot check out until 9am as 'the computers only get turned on at 9am'. This was not helpful when we had to leave early on the last morning.
A beautiful hotel but not ideal for people below the age of 50!
