By Isadora, 11/09/09
We had such a great time at the Pier 5 what can I say Tje location is great right next to the national aquarium in Baltimore. It was like walking right outside a few feet and then wow. Which the aqurium was great the jelly exhibit was awesome! Then we had dinner at ruth chris's steakhouse LOCATED AT THE HOTEL. I can not tell you how good it was you have to experience. To top it off was the power plant. We get back to our room and the hotel has this simple indulgence things GDIVA CHOCOLATE'S FOR 9.95!!! I could not believe it. I definately had such a great time. Next time we plan on making it for 4 nights so we can go to more of the area!

Unsure
By David, 10/12/09
I stayed there twice. The first time the service was great, the room clean and the breakfast good. I could not wait to go back. The second time I went I had booked the room four months in advance. Two beds. When I got there I was given a room with one bed. I complained and was told there is nothing they could do. I pointed out that I specifically made a reservation months in advance for that reason and I was told that there were no rooms available try back the next day. I complained a few hours later to someone else and was immediately given a room with two beds and a broken toilet. I complained, fixed the toilet myself. They did knock $50 off the bill.

Not sure I'd go back..
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/28/08
The location is GREAT!! The hotel is average on service-the front desk did charge our blackberry at no charge which was nice since we forgot the charger but the cleanliness is questionable...I found a bath towel with human waste on it-as if it had missed the wash all together but it was still nicely folded in the room. Who does that?? Gross!! Hum, the biggest deal was the hidden cost...they don't tell you about the $9 bottle of water and the morning paper you are required to pay for-it doesn't matter if you never touch the water and decline the paper -it's a cost you must pay. Not sure I'd go back...the human waste on the towel and the expensive water and newspaper are not worth it in the long run!!

Not worth returning to.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/03/07
Liked: most of staff nice (the rest were indifferent) Liked: food served at conference:good Disliked: faucet in room- handle broken Disliked: internet not connected- I had to connect via a long phone call to a techie, and had to crawl under the desk to complete the task. It is still broken. Disliked: Harbor Club cold @ 50 degrees ( a/c had been turned on) Disliked: sound system in Harbor Club didn't work; a new mike had to be brought in, and that never consistantly worked There was no 'magic' at the Pier 5 Hotel

I would never go back to this place.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/14/07
Web site and info from hotel when contacted lead you to believe that this is a fantastic place. NOT! The hotel is slighly grungy. Noticed right away that the furniture and floor in the lobby was not clean. Boxes cluttered to the side of the elevator. Furniture in the room the same; dirty. Obviously, this hotel does not have a sufficient budget to maintain their facilitites. We had a suite with breakfast included. I would not call it a suite. The breakfast was awful. I am a breakfast person and I was turned off by the poor quality. The meats were greasy and there were few choices in breads. What ticked me off the most was the $21.00 per day to park my car. Come on. Baltimore is not NYC.

Never again
By Susan, 09/17/06
Alot of hidden costs...never told that we had to pay for parking...28.00 per day. Destination Fee that was charged that we were not told about till after the fact of 9.95 per day. It included the “free” crabby hour that the Pier 5 hotel offered, newspaper daily (financial times, USA today), long distance calls, internet connection, 2 bottles of water a day. My husband and I were on vacation not a business trip so we didn’t want or need any of these, but we were told this charge would not be waived and that it is just a standard charge. So technically, we got two bottles of water a day in our room, for what amounted to almost 5.00 per day. We purchased the ultimate experience package, which during check in were told the tickets were going to be in our room. they were not, had to go back downstairs to lobby and they assured us when we return from the activity we were going to, it would be in our room, got back 6 hours later and still not there, called downstairs and they told me I had to call the next morning....finally we got our tickets the next morning. Also, got stuck in the emergency exit stairwell Right across from our room was a door that stated on it, door locks behind you exit on the first floor. Went to first floor and door was locked, luckily called my husband on cell and he came to get me. Told the front desk about it, their response was well it’s locked because it’s an ememrgency exit, I suggested they state that on the door, the woman at the desk just shrugged and went to answer the phone. Because of the hidden costs and the lack of helpfulness of the staff, we will not be returning and we will tell others of this bad experience.

Honeymoon Disaster
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/17/06
My husband and I went to Baltimore for our Honeymoon. We had booked a room for 3 nights. We showed up on our wedding night and after an hour of waiting (in my wedding dress no less) at the front desk, they informed us that they had over booked themselves. There were no rooms available for us to stay in. We had our room booked for at least 4 months. So they sent us to a "sister" hotel, that costs less than we paid there (however, there was no money returned) and the new room had only a small bed with no fitted sheet. I would never recommend this hotel to others!

Charmed
By mjl, 05/17/05
The rooms were themed not the typical boring standard decorated hotel room, with 2.5 paintings and floral bed spread. They were special and unique. Everything was quite convenient, down to the complimentary umbrella they provided, which we ended up needing due to the weather. I only wish we could have stayed at least another night.

Give this a try!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/02/05
It had been uears since I stayed at the Pier % hotel and got a terrific internet special, so I thought I'd try it again. Wonderful! The decor has changed form the once very nautical interior to an Asian inspired. Very pleasant!..Great service....great location....very comfortable. Would definately stay there again!

Not worth staying at at any price.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/21/04
Myself and two friends stayed there two nights during Otakon. When we got there we found that our toilet didn't work and we only had one bed. Nothing was done to remedy either problem. The room wasn't cleaned during our stay. We had the front desk hold our bags and one was not returned; after two months no effort has been made to reimburse us for it.
