Sadly Disappointed
Unfortunately, my experience did not live up to previous reviews. While the room was comfortable and the "sweet sleeper bed" was a delight, the amenities and service left something to be desired.
Using the shuttle service was a disaster as we were not informed the driver went off-duty at 10 (even though we were dropped off at the West End to see a show and have dinner at 7:30 and we specifically asked how to get back to the hotel.) Upon calling at 10:02, we were first told we were out of luck and would need to call a cab. When asked to call a cab for us, the clerk got an attitude and told us he would try but he couldn't guarantee anything.
Finally, after waiting and calling back, another desk clerk was able to get us a cab with no problem and at about 10:40 we arrived back at the hotel. The desk clerk I dealt with on the phone, and thanked upon arriving, reimbursed me for the taxi and gave me coupons for breakfast as an apology. I was leary of using the shuttle service the duration of the stay even though this and the hotel's proximity to the West End was one reason I chose the Sheraton.
Additionally, one of the phones in my room was broken and the ice machine was out of service, forcing me to trek down a floor each time I needed ice. Also, what you save in price, you give up in services such as breakfast and internet access. I ended up paying as much as I would have for the pricier hotels in the area.
