The only thing good about this one was the price. But it was not a good exchange for a good nights sleep!! The "Newly remodeled rooms" are pretty but the floors are not carpeted they a re like a linolium so guess what when you are on the bottom floor you hear every little movement and step from the next room up and it went on ALL night long, guess the people didn't care there were people trying sleep below them! The noisey heater fan coming on and off all night was horrible and very loud too! The shower door was like broken couldn't shut it all the way on bottom so water went all over floor there was 1 washcloth for 3 people and 2 towels. And the 1 washcloth that was there and digusting hair waded up in it folded! And NO alarm clock we like to be able to see what time it is whithout using our cell phones. VERY BAD REMODEL!!! Will NEVER stay at this one ever again!
I know the whole "you get what you pay for". But this was NOT worth whatever savings I could have even saved. I had made plans four months ahead and we had been given a quote and confirmed that quote over the telephone. When we got there they changed the quote on us saying they hadn't added the tax in. They told me it was 8% tax but it varied where we were from. We argued that it doesn't matter where we were from you pay a tax depending on where the hotel is. Then the manager agreed with us and told the guy to process us. When I got up to the room something didn't look right and I realized it was not 8% we were charged but 10%. I went back down and complained and they said the rate is 10%. We gave up. We weren't going to argue on our trip. The second day we stayed there our door keys didn't work and we had to go back to down to the lobby cause we were locked out.
The rooms were average. And the shower wasn't that clean.
They only provided 2 towels for our room when we had 3 people staying there.
Then one day my friend got sick and he stayed in bed while my other friend and I went out. The cleaning room service stopped by. They didn't even bother to re-make our bed. So we came back to a messy bed that they didn't even bother to make.
Overall, we did not like the service of the hotel nor their attitude towards us. We stayed in Sedona 8 and it was better pricing and the best service I ever had in my life. The Motel 6 in Flagstaff was horrible. Would never recommend. The only thing that was positive was that it was really close to things across the street (grocery store and restaurants).
Comparing this motel to the Sleep Inn on the same street, this place is the pits!! The Sleep Inn is about $2 more per night and is well worth it. When we arrived, I handed over my print out internet booking confirmation. The receptionist took forever checking us in. We were told that check in was at 4pm. Not notified on the internet that it would be that late. We had arrived just after 3pm. They said that they had one clean room available with a queen bed which had a small refrigerator in it. She wanted to charge us an additional $3 because the room had the refrigerator! For some reason, after booking, even though I entered 2 people for the room, it printed out as one person. She tried to charge us another $5, trying to charge us at the regular rate and not the internet rate my boyfriend thankfully put his foot down and we ended up getting what we had ordered on line. It was a battle. Funny cause they did have a clean room, without a fridge!! We almost walked over to the other motels to book a room. Wish we had. It must have taken almost 20 mins to check us in. As soon as we opened the door to the room, there was a REALLY NASTY SMELL. It was so bad that we had to go to Walmart to buy a couple of candles and de-odorizing spray for the room. The room was smaller than the one we had at Sleep Inn, the furniture was not in such good condition. No hairdryer, safe, ironing board in the room. Just beds and a TV. Not even coffee machine or kettle to boil water in. They do not do breakfast, just coffee. The Sleep Inn has a big lobby and eating area, the Motel 6 does not and they also have a free breakfast cereals, waffles, bagels, donuts and free drinks. Visit hotelclub.com and see the price for the Sleep Inn. Taxes are only a couple of dollars too!
