Atrium Suites Las Vegas Hotel, Las Vegas

During my last stay at the Atrium Suites, I made a long-distance phone call from my room and charged it to my credit card. The charge for about a 10 minute call was 27 dollars. I know phone calls are a common rip-off in hotels, but this seems much worse than one might expect, even in Las Vegas.

The mgr (Saed) arranged to move ten of us who were attending a business meeting there. He moved us to a nearby hotel and we cooperated. Having made my reservations in advance, I was told to advise the hotel if I was going to leave early. Upon arriving, he informed us that we were being moved, but did not inform me that he was pre-charging my credit card for three days instead of the two I intended to stay for. I informed the receiving hotel that I was staying for two nights. When I checked out, the receiving hotel correctly recorded my departure. When I asked the Atrium clerk for a receipt, it showed they were charging me as an early check-out, and charged me for three full nights.

When I called to challenge the charge, the mgr said he would investigate. I also called the accountant and explained, just to hasten the process of a reimbursement. The mgr said he would call that day or the next. I finally called three days later and he explained that he was offended by my calling his accountant and going around him. He accused me of making up the story and being unethical. When I asked for the name of a member of the Board of Directors, he became angry and agreed to reimburse me (still waiting). I am a past president of the national organization that met there and I will notify the organizers of the poor service I received. It is especially offensive to me to be taken advantage of while the mgr was moving me without prior notice to a different hotel that required that I walk several blocks each time. He had promised a shuttle that was not always avlbl. He was rude and needs anger management. I hope that he does not continue in the industry.

Watch out for the bait and switch at the Atrium while Saed is still mgr.

Stay here for layover's in Vegas. Quick run in and out of the Airport and you can stroll over to the strip if you want. Strip hotels eat up huge amounts of time to check in and check out. Not worth it for a quick layover.
