Excellent experience
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/21/11
The hotel is set in a lovely historic section of 19thc Richmond and the building is full of charm--I found none of the things in the other negative reviews. Magnolia trees line the streets and the architecture is wonderful. It is a very good buy for the money--and is 2 blocks from the very fancy Jefferson Hotel which is twice as expensive--but offers a 4 star restaurant and is well worth a visit from Linden Row for dinner or lunch. Our whole family had 5 rooms and everyone had a good experience and would go back. The bathrooms were clean, the rooms spotless, and the staff was very helpful.

could hve been better.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/17/09
The large room needed an easy chair. I could watch the vagrants sleeping on the library steps across the street. The room was separated from the adjoining room by a wood door. I could hear verbatum the conversations in the next room. The TV was postage stamp size. Th exterior was cobered with cracked an peeling paint. The staff was poorly trained. I tried to buy a coke but the machine was out of order. The night clerke gave me change since the dollar bill thing didn't work. That didn't woek either. When I ran into another guest with a coke and asked him where he got it he tlod me where their WORKING vending machine was located. Why didn't the clerk tell me there was another machine rather than have me exhaust all the features on the broken one? The breakfast staff kepy asking us if it was ok to take down the continentall breakfast. So the people from our wedding party who arrived 5 or ten minutes late did not get a breakfast We felt like we were on our own and no one was there to serve us.

Charming & Friendly
By Amy, 2/3/09
The establishment was difficult to find, but was charming inside. The staff were friendly, and valet parking was efficient. Parking otherwise would have been a bear. Breakfast was nothing special, coffee lukewarm. Rooms were fine, clean, nice bedding, somewhat run-down furniture. When I asked about internet, they put me in a room that gets better reception. Apparently different parts of bulding get better internet reception than others. They had area restaurant menus and made good suggestions. I would return.

Horrible
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/1/08
Very misleading website! I'm sure this USED to be a lovely establishment as several locals told me how wonderful the Linden Row WAS! The large room was sparsley furnished and everything looks very rundown. Unbeknownst to me, this is located in a bad section of town as my car was broken into and my stay was less than 12 hours! I only parked across the street from the library which is across the street from the hotel! Although they were very apologetic about my car being broken into and helped clean the glass, they are the ones who told me where I could park.

Beware!!
By wendy, 5/20/08
BEWARE!!!!!!! This place is awful our rooms were not ready until 4:30 when we arrived. Then at bedtime I pulled down my covers to find my bed FULL of hair I checked the other bed and it was the same way. I called the front desk they brought up clean sheets but I had to ask them to make the bed as they were just going to hand them to me. They had no clean pillow cases to give me so they threw a sheet over my pillows. They have no idea how to run that place. BEWARE!!

yuk!!!!!!!!!!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/20/08
ell...overall not a good experience and would not recommend the inn . the rooms were ok clean but nothing fancy if that is what you want. maid service was terrible, my room was supose to have been cleaned on the second day i was there well did not happen. they made my bed left trash cans full and no wash cloths(for the second day) and did not even pick up the bath mat. no hand towels either and when i asked for the linen i did get that but they left a trash bag on the table for me to empty the trash. oh yes and toliet tissue was very scarce! we had asked several times to get them to have us a sandwich and cheese tray made up for after gtaduation and they could not seem to handle that but told us they could. we finally got the trays and the cheese tray had a little cheese on it and we found out they had done it and the tray was dirty. we tried to check out and that was a nightmare our bills were all messed up and charged to wrong credit cards desk clerk had no clue what she was doing. we are still trying to sort all this out. i did find that most of he staff was nice especially our

Didn't Stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/6/07
I need to whine here - please forgive me. Didn't get a chance to stay - had two rooms reserved for tonight, a weekend trip for my mother-in-law. Mother-in-law became ill and I called to ask if I could reschedule rooms for a later weekend, offering to upgrade to better rooms which meant I would spend more. Was told that I had to pay for tonight's rooms regardless - pretty much tough noogies. Reservation clerk Gerald was very kind, but was doing as he was told by his manager. I know cancellation policies are in place for a reason - deadbeats who don't show up and the hotel needs to maximize revenue. They could have a heart.. again, I know I'm whining but to the tune of throwing $260+ out the window.

What a nice experience
By Anne McPherson, 6/6/07
I am very picky about hotels, especially the night before a race when I need my rest (I'm a runner). This hotel was so nice...it was clean, our bed was very comfortable, the bathroom was luxurious and our room was charming. Please note...parking is a tiny bit of a hassle, but it was worth it. It's not only a nice place, but an excellent value. We will stay here every time we are in Richmond.

The Linden Row, Inn, Richmond, VA
By Flaming Arrow, 9/6/06
The Best meal I've had in my life!* We stayed out in the garden, the old kitchen. Poe played in that garden as a child with his friend, Helen, who he wrote To Helen for. There was a friendly ghost in our cottage. I could smell delicious food all night as I slept in the room, & nobody was cooking. When I awoke there was a slender black woman in a long full red dress & apron, with a white towel tied round her head, staring down, smiling at me. We took some pictures in the room. There are bubbles or spheres present. The Linden Row Inn exudes a wealth of charm. I loved it*

Great Historic Hotel
This is a very cool, historic hotel. If you are looking for something generic, go somewhere else. If you are looking for an eclectic, historic experience, look no further! High ceilings, antiques, great downtown location at a value price.
