Stay Away from this place!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/19/06
I hardly know how to start with this: For what I am about to say may seem natural for a hole in the wall, dingy, flea-infested, $10-a-night, drug den in the back alleys of some large metropolis, but for a place that competes with the best run hotels in America, this place is a fraud. Why wife and I managed to stay there for one hour before I couldn't take it. Unfortunaltely, they still charged me $98.00. Take it from me, there's a Holiday Inn Express nearby - go there! Or better, reserve a room at the Holiday Inn, then take a drive to this place - you won't regret your decision!!!

Disgusting!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/17/06
The most disgusting place I have ever attempted to stay!! My room was completely disgusting and unacceptable. Also, when I informed them that I could not stay in the room, they assured me that I would not be charged. Well guess what, here comes the $123 charge on my credit card statement which they now refuse to refund!!!!!!!! DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE!!!!

One of the worst ever!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/09/05
Our rooms were all reserved for a wedding, so there was also a lot of family feed-back. The rooms were musty, and filthy. There were ants, lots of them, in the kitchen area, and on the floors. The carpets were so disgusting that you had to keep shoes or slippers on. There were wasps and roaches in the unlit stairways. All of us had unworking blinds, toilets, coffee makers. Just of terrible waste of a lovely setting. Would never go back

HORRIBLE
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/19/05
Well, I had my wedding in Richmond at a place called the Gardens @ Sunday Park (BEAUTIFUL), I am from MD so all of our guests were from out of town. We had 30 rooms blocked there and all I have to say is EMBARRASED! They promised that it would be renovated, but it was not even close. There were dead cockroaches, spiders, cob webs, Non-Smoking Rooms had a dingy smoke musty smell. There was only 1 handicap room to which the phone did not work for our 86 year old grandmother. The TV's did not work, where in one room it would show a pink screen with no sound, other TV sets would be blaring with no volume control. It was pretty bad! Although the front desk people were nice, I was really embarrased.

This Hotel Rocks
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/18/05
I loved this hotel. I'm used to staying at a holliday Inn or somthing along those lines, but this hotel was so much better. Currently they are renevating the rooms and they ones that are finished are so nice! The view is unbelievable. You look out onto a gorgeous lake. They have boats, kyacks, and canoes you can rent. They have a very cosy bar, and a magnificent resturaunt. They have a nice pool area where you can sit out and relax. I spoke with the manager to tell him what a great time we had, and he is probably the nicest man I have met in a long time. I cannot wait to go back.

Bad internal view, nice external view
By Jason, 09/13/05
My parents and I experienced several problems when we stayed there. The toilet and carpet were dirty when we arrived. The toilet was eventually cleaned, but the carpet looked as if a dog had used the bathroom on it. Speaking of dogs, they must allow pets, because some little yapping mutt kept me up at night, through the paper-thin walls. Also, the coffee pot would not work, although they brought us another one. There was a quirky design in a lamp over the table in the living room, where you had to reach up into the lamp shade to turn the light on/off, thus burning your fingers on a hot light bulb when trying to turn off this particular light. We had various problems with the TV remotes, and the springs on the pull-out bed kept poking me in the back!

The Worst Place I Ever Stayed
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/19/05
Where do I start? The room was filthy - cobwebs, dead bugs, pubic hair in the bed. TV remotes did not work, no long distance telephone service, only 2 towels, no extra bedding for the pull out, walls paperthin, very noisy, littered grounds, hallways dirty, empty beer bottles in kitchen area, so obviously the room had not been cleaned.

Nasty!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/16/04
The pictures on the web looked great - great location - but the rooms were nasty - we also had to move from the first room assigned - there was a hole in the entry door - there was a used condom! in the closet. The room smelled of mold and mildew. Don't go!

Disasterous!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/13/04
What a horrible place: mold, midlew, dust, cobwebs everywhere. The first room had drywall dust everywhere and a fan trying to dry out the carpet. They did not even know that when they sent us there. They moved us down the hall. I cleaned out the cobwebs from the doorway so we could go in! The fold out couch had no mattress & springs that would not fold out. The head chef came to bring us a different couch. There were 2 TVs, but one did not work & the remote control had no batteries. They could not get us batteries. The carpet on the lower level was wet enough to make my daughter's socks wet when she took her shoes off! They did give us one night free, but now we are all sick!!! All we wanted was a clean dry room. More like the Swampwater hotel! Save yourself & don't go.
