Rude and misrepresentation
By ,
Prior to our arrival I called and spoke to Nicole and confirmed that our group would all get a rate of $59/night. I spoke to her more than once and confirmed this. When we arrived we were told they had no records of this. It started with the discussion of the room rate. I had reserved two rooms for one night and was told that i had reserved one room for two nights. Then another person called and reserved the room himself and was told when he arrived that he didn't even have a room. Chetna (manager I think) told him that he must have called another Howard Johnson. I told her that wasn't possible because I gave everyone in the group the same number to call so that's the number he called. Then the conversation continued about room rates. Next thing I know she's talking rudely to me saying that she could cancel all reservations and we could go elsewhere. If we weren't all tired from a 400 mile motorcycle ride honoring veterans we would have cancelled our rooms. Our group consisted of 9 rooms and I had also confirmed that we would be placed close to each other and that defintely did not happen. Our group had stayed at this hotel in 2010 and we will NOT be staying there again and will not recommend this hotel to anyone! Chetna was disrespectful and very rude despite the fact that the mistakes were done by their staff and it wasn't just one lie it was many!

Good value for the price
By ,
The room was clean and from other reviews, I thought I would be awake half the night due to the closeness to the track but we slept soundly. Breakfast was ho-hum, but luckily there was a Denny's close by. Place was a little hard to find and not close to anything of interest for tourist so if you want to experience downtown, I recommend a hotel around I17 area instead. Overall, for the price and budget conscious traveller , I recommend this place.

Don't stay there!
By ,
This was one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in. The carpets had just been cleaned, so the carpet was wet and mildewy smelling. We were not warned before we got into our room that they might be wet. There were ants in the room. The location is horrible - right next to a busy main thoroughway - so the traffic noise was loud. It was also close to a train track, so you had that noise, too. The accomodations were very low end and mismatched - fire alarm was ripped out of the wall, fixtures were put on crooked. The Desk Clerk was a disgruntled employee - she was rude and swearing and was totally unprofessional. We were supposed to stay 2 nights but checked out early because it was so bad. The spa they advertise is next door at Super 8. It is located right next to the front lobby and parking lots.

Recommend avoiding this one!
By ,
The area was unsafe, parking lot dark and I was approached by a drunk when I took my dog out in early evening. The manager was indifferent to the situation. I always stay at Red Roof Inns, but this was awful. Definitely would avoid this one!!!

wouldn't recommend
By ,
We reserved a room at the Red Roof Inn in Flagstaff because we have stayed in them in other cities and towns, I would not recommend this hotel because first of all the manager was VERY rude. I had requested a room with a microwave (because i have an infant) they said they had one available, when we checked in there was no microwave, guest services said they had booked all of them but if i wanted to come and use the microwave in the office I could(yeah at 3:00am) I went in to talk to the manager he said they didnt even have any rooms PERIOD with a microwaves but he would call quality inn next store because they had a microwave in the rooms he also said it would take 3 to 5 buisness days to get the amount charged back onto my bank card obviously that is not acceptable because I am on vacation today and I need access to ALL of my money he said nevermind do not worry about it so I went to stay at Quality Inn (they were VERY nice) just to wake up in the morning to check the charges on my credit card to find that THEY had also charged my bank card (I had never given them permisson)manager why he had authorized them to charge my bank card he had no answer other then I am sorry well quite frankly that is NOT good enough so now I had $110.00 tied up on my bank card that Iould not use because he authorized charges on my account. It was a disaster and I will NEVER stay at another Red Roof Inn ANYWHERE and neither will any of my family members no matter how cheap the price. So thanks to 1 person they just lost a whole family (a big one I might add) as customers to ALL Red Roof Inns.
