Would definitely return in spite of mixup

Stayed in this hotel in fall of '05. Upon arrival, we found out the hotel was overbooked and our reservation was useless. However, the Splendid put us up in another hotel two blocks away. The view of the Eiffel tower was quite good, though you can't see it from inside the rooms - you have to go out onto the balcony. But still, it was a pleasant and charming hotel. The breakfast was typical european fare and adequate if not extravagant.
The location was great - easy access to the metro / subway, though I wouldn't call the hotel "walking distance" to the E. tower. One certainly could, but if you have a number of sights to see, the metro is the way to go.
Overall, a pleasant two-thumbs up.
