WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE AND FACILITIES

My family and I stayed here and shortly after check in, we got stuck in the outside elevator in the Florida 100 degree heat. We had to call the front desk clerks twice from inside the elevator for help and call 911 on our own. After asking the front desk clerk for immediate help as we had 8 people in the elevator (5 children and 1 claustraphobic person) and it was extremely difficult to breathe due to the heat, the front desk clerk HUNG UP ON US. This was the only contact we had to the outside. The maintenance guy didn't know how to get us out and no one came to help him. After 25 minutes we finally got out thanks for my brother-in-law inside the elevator. Once the door opened, we had to be lifted out over 4 ft. of concrete because we were stuck between floors. Paramedics had to be called. Once in the lobby, the clerk at first said she didn't hang up on us, then changed her story saying she did because she was new and wasn't trained for emergency situations. We had to wait 1 hour to speak to the general manager because there was no manager on site. We had to ask for water from the front desk people -- they didn't even offer. The GM came into the lobby and never asked how we were, apologized for the situation, etc... After we told him about what happened and how we were treated, he had no comment and basically said that the items that were damaged as we were getting out -- "that's what insurance is for." (which we still haven't heard from). He didn't offer to cover our room for the night -- we had to tell him we're not paying for it. At first he said that would be our responsibility to take it up with the booking agent. We have never experienced such awful customer service. They do not care about their guests. While we were in the lobby, at least 3 other people came in to complain about their stay. The facilities were dirty and smelled bad, the electrical plugs in the rooms didn't work, we had people randomly knocking on our door all night and the breakfast was uneatable. Save your money and take your family somewhere where they will be safe and treated well.
