Very upscale but with no history
The hotel was very upscale -- more than the typical Hyatt. It also had nice touches -- like shaving cream, cologne and disposable razors in the locker room, new headphones (like those on airplanes) available in the fitness center, more phones in my room than I knew what to do with and all marble everything in the hotel. The location was convenient as the studio I was visitng was just round the corner.
Despite the luxury, it didn't have the history and elegance of the Century Plaza just down the street. The Plaza has a more interesting history (Western White House and more "stars", an infinity-type pool, the Westin Heavenly Bed and tall doorways.
So while I enjoyed the hotel (at $250+ per night, I'd better ejoy it), I couldn't help myself eyeing the Plaza every time I drove down the street.
