Event Planning Fiasco
My fiancée and I attempted to plan a wedding at this resort in the winter offseason. After spending the night we met with a sales manager for 3 hours laying out the details for the event, including a large volume of room rentals. The next day when we met with the event coordinator, she informed us that pretty much everything we discussed with the sales manager could not and would not be done as stated. Such as, the first day of planning we could rent a room to have a reception for the price of $2,000 but the next day they would not even guarantee we could use the room for a few hours one night during the offseason. There appeared to be a lack of communication between hotel personnel as to what is available to prospective customers.
I’ve traveled frequently with business and attended many events at resorts. This was by far one of the least professional resorts I have been to. Hotel personnel seemed to think highly of themselves. I’ve always believed that if you are willing to give someone else your hard earned money, they should at least show you respect.
The rooms were adequate but I have stayed in many “economy” hotels which offer the same level of comfort for pure bedding purposes. The location is the only upside to this “resort”. If you are looking for somewhere to spend money and not receive much in return, then this is the place for you. As for myself, I would stay in my vehicle before I stayed here again.
