I must say I never saw an insect of any kind in there! Fabulous drinks poolside and romantic along the beach! I am looking forward to going back! Location to the beach is unmatched. We absolutely loved all of it!

OVER PRICED DUMP - WILL NOT RETURN
By UNHAPPY IN ATLANTA, 08/25/09
I WAS CHARGED FOR MY ENTIRE WEEK STAY ON THE DAY I ARRIVED. I DID NOT LIKE THE ROACHES, DIRTY BED, DIRTY BATHROOM. THE WATER NEVER GOT HOT/WARM. THE SERVICE FROM THE HOTEL STAFF WAS INADEQUATE. THE CONFERENCE FOOD WAS HORRIBLE AND THE CONFERENCE CENTER WAS TOO COLD.

Event Planning Fiasco
By Henry, 08/17/09
My fiancée and I attempted to plan a wedding at this resort in the winter offseason. After spending the night we met with a sales manager for 3 hours laying out the details for the event, including a large volume of room rentals. The next day when we met with the event coordinator, she informed us that pretty much everything we discussed with the sales manager could not and would not be done as stated. Such as, the first day of planning we could rent a room to have a reception for the price of $2,000 but the next day they would not even guarantee we could use the room for a few hours one night during the offseason. There appeared to be a lack of communication between hotel personnel as to what is available to prospective customers. I’ve traveled frequently with business and attended many events at resorts. This was by far one of the least professional resorts I have been to. Hotel personnel seemed to think highly of themselves. I’ve always believed that if you are willing to give someone else your hard earned money, they should at least show you respect. The rooms were adequate but I have stayed in many “economy” hotels which offer the same level of comfort for pure bedding purposes. The location is the only upside to this “resort”. If you are looking for somewhere to spend money and not receive much in return, then this is the place for you. As for myself, I would stay in my vehicle before I stayed here again.

Nice But poor service. Will not return!
By Jennifer, 07/27/09
NOT enough employees. House keeping completely skipped our room even with the maid service request tag hanging on the door. Waited 20 minutes after being seated at Cafe Palm Breeze, no one took our drink orders, they were slow, not busy at all. Then, room service asked us to call back in 20 minutes because they were busy and when we called back they didn't answer. Never did answer, we finally gave up!

Great place to vacation in the gulf area
By whikat, 07/19/09
I am sick and tired to reading bad reviews of this place from individuals who are either spoiled beyond belief or have a completely unrealistic expectation of what excellence is. My wife and I have been going to this resort each anniversary and at other times for at least the last 10 years. Never have we encountered anything but the most courteous behavior from the staff regardless of the situation. The place is thoroughly if not immaculately clean. Never has any insect been seen in any part of the hotel, except flying insects outside (mosquitoes, gnats etc.). Now we love to eat well on vacation and I must admit that their midlevel restaurant leaves a lot to be desired as far as quality of food is concerned excluding breakfast which is great. This is somewhat of a curiosity as their upscale restaurant is very good. Not 5 star but at least 4 stars. However, you go to the gulf to eat seafood anyway and Orange Beach has more than its share of great seafood places.

Five Star Prices...Three Star Quality.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/16/09
Literally no entertainment. Call for reservations and I'll bet no one will pick up the phone. No golf. Hardly any employees and rarely occupied to capacity. Priced way, way to high. Not recommended.

WORST STAY
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/03/09
The Front Desk staff are very RUDE we booked a room with a view of the pool and gulf. Upon arrival we were told none of those rooms were available even though that was the type of room we reserved. We were put in a room with a view of the pass, this was unacceptable however we were offered no compensation. The next day we asked to speak to a manager. Debbie told us there was nothing she could do and said if we were so unhappy we could checkout and go elsewhere. What kind of management is that. I felt like I was speaking to an employee not a MANAGER. The staff here just don't CARE about their CUSTOMERS. Oh I almost forgot about the ROACHES which they call palmetto bugs.I will NEVER STAY OR RECOMMEND THIS RESORT TO ANYONE.

Don't go here. We will never return!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/29/09
We do not recommend this place at all, especially if you are planning a wedding and want a honeymoon, a quiet one. The Manager named Charles is rude, inconsiderate, and the people who are there for conventions are given all of the consideration while the other guests are ignored. My daughter and husband were woken up all night long and nothing was done. Charles told me there were many other complaints and then he told my daughter that they were the only ones complaining. Also, they were told they could have a junior suite on arrival and arrived to find out there were none left, so had to be moved for their second and third nights. If you are not with a convention, please make your reservations with another hotel. This new management will not care about anything you have to say. We spent a lot of money for a wedding at this hotel and that obviously makes no difference to management.

Cheated
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/16/08
Called to cancel reservations when the Ms Hwy Patrol would not let us travel Interstate to Orange Beach because of forced evacuations from Hurricane warning. They still charged my credit card and refused to refund
