4 reviews for Hotel Palladium Palace, Rome
Exceeded expectations!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/04/07
This beautiful hotel was sooo close to the train station (good for those flying in and going other places by train). The staff was soo courteous, friendly, professional. The terrace breakfast area was beautiful as were the rooms. This is Europe..rooms are smaller, but very efficient. Love the tile everywhere. We were right on the main street side, but with the shutters and windows was pretty quiet. Loved opening them up and watching the morning Rome traffic. Staff was EXTREMELY efficient, professional, and helpful. Concierge even found an English-speaking physician for an ailing member of our family. The whole experience was great!!! I would highly recommend this place to anyone...for us, it was a treasure!!!

Not good if solo
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/20/05
The staff were very friendly, the room clean and the breakfast extensive. It was an easy walk to the colosseum and on the way you pass several good, reasonably priced eateries. It was a bit near to the station where con artists did try to pickpocket us. They didn't succeed as there were 4 of us. A good location if in a group and we weren't put off but be warned.

Wonderful service but far from downtown.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/25/05
My husband and I stayed at the Palladium Palace for two weeks in December 2004. We had a beautiful room with a private balcony and a large bathroom with a jacuzzi tub/shower. Since we were near the train station, it did tend to get loud, but the heavy curtains helped to block out some of the noise. The staff was friendly and courteous, and the complimentary breakfast offered a variety of items from cereal to pastries to hard boiled eggs to deli meats. Although, we enjoyed our stay at the hotel, the next time we go back to Rome we'll choose a hotel closer to the heart of the city. It took about 45 minutes to walk to Vatican City and 30 minutes to walk to the Colosseum. The hotel is located roughly two and a half blocks from the train station, which poses some problems, especially concerning pickpockets. My husband almost fell victim twice to pickpockets, but luckily he realized in time what was happening.

Great Experience
By Matt, 06/15/04
This review is based on the experience my sister and I had during our December 2001 visit to Rome.

LOCATION: The Hotel Palladium Palace is in a great location! Upon our arrival in Rome, my sister and I took the Leonardo Express train to Termini (the main train station in Rome.) From here we were able to walk to our hotel. Since Termini is the hub of all train lines in Rome, we never had to switch trains when it came to traveling to all the tourist hot spots (ex: The Vatican, Coloseum, etc.) For all you shoppers, Termini is home to dozens of stores ranging from music, clothing, and food. Close to the hotel was a Western Union with internet connection. After our daily sight seeing my sister and I would e-mail friends and family to let them know of all the fun we were having. My sister and I also found this great little pizza place near the hotel called "Pizza Rustico." There are many little historic churches near the hotel that are great to look at as well.

ROOM: The room was smaller than expected but decent for the price we paid. The price was very reasonable (probably because we visited Rome in December which is an off travel time.) We had two beds, a shower/bath, TV with cable. There was also a little room with closet space to put our bags. The room wasn't something to write home about, but how much time does any spend in their hotel room with all Rome has to offer? I hope very little time.

SERVICE: Service was excellent! The staff was great in giving us maps of Rome and booking a cab for us when it came time to leave. Our room was always cleaned and beds made when we returned. Breakfast was buffet style and the man who set up the choices was very nice to us when we saw him in the morning. We spent little time in the hotel, but the time we did was enjoyable.

OVERALL: I rate it 4/5. Excellent location and service, great value, good room.
