Great to Party. Terrible for Sleep
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/14/09
This is not the hotel for you if you plan to sleep in your room. If you plan to get drunk and party - this place is for you! There is a club across the street that has the loudest bass I've ever heard. I was on the 7th floor - not even on the same side of the hotel - the bass continued until 4 a.m. The hotel's only response was that they normally stop at 2 a.m. Thanks!

Location versus better for more money...
By Wes, 08/02/09
First off, this hotel is great for its location. Walking distance to the arena. The pool was only 3 1/2 feet deep, not good for kids playing, at least my 10yo did not think so. The construction all around the hotel did not make the pool a quite get away, it was loud and most the buildings were taller. Parking was a little on the expensive side, $18 per night. No fan in the bathroom made it hard to dry off due to all the steam. But all in all I will stay again for short weekend trips due to location. As long as you know it is a 3star and not a 4 or 5, you should be ok.

Location isn't everything
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/30/07
I plunked down my $150 for the convenient location, not wanting to pay a little more for Marriott and others. Big mistake. They may have remodelled the lobby, but the rooms are still in the 70s. My shower head was cracked and sprayed water everywhere. Wastebaskets were nowhere to be seen. The window heating unit was good at making noise and that's about it. And on checkout? Don't forget to pay the extra money for overnight parking. Thank you very much.

Pretty good experience
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/29/07
The Hotel is in a great location if you are looking to experience the bar scene in Charlotte. There are many bars within walking distance. My only compaint is that the parking garage is not connected to the hotel. You have to take an elevator to the bottom of the parking garage. Then walk around to the front of the hotel and take another elevator up to your room. Its kind of a hassel if you have a lot of luggage. The staff was very nice and the room was nice as well.

Most Horrible treatment
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/18/07
I would never stay in this Hotel, perhaps, no Holiday Inn, again. We had reservations for 6 months, we called & offered to pay for them early to insure we would have the rooms. Then get there and some of us have to sleep on the floor. The manager was so condescending towards our group. (He said, "If you had gotten here an hour earlier.") This was at 4 o'clock in the afternoon.!!!! I thought reservations were to reserve our rooms. Guess not, It must be first come, first served situation. We were supposed to have double beds in all rooms, and I ended up sleeping on a couch. We waited in the lobby for 1 hour and then they sent me to a room that was already occupied. I am pretty sure they overbooked and we reaped the ugly benefits.

What a great hotel!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/20/07
I started reading the reviews and was a bit worried. When I arrived I was greeted by friendly and willing to serve staff. Hotel was clean and comfortable and in the middle of everything! Will definetly go back to this hotel my next trip to Charlotte. Not one complaint. C. Katsaitis - Fort Lauderdale, Florida

not worth the money
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/13/07
I was at this location last weekend, the location was great but the expense was way over the edge. We were charged 450 dollars a night(2 nights, 10 dollars to park,no discounts AAA,AARP and no free breakfast, no door separating rooms, no frills, no cooking facilities(microwave, small fridge.

Sad customer service
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/19/06
I was very disappointed in the customer service. We were quoted a rate over the phone to reserve 5 rooms. 4 of the rooms were given the quoted rate, one was not. So, after many phone calls and a week later a credit was promised but has not been delivered. I don't ever like to complain, but I have never had such poor customer service.

Rehearsal Dinner
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/03/06
My son was recently married in Charlotte, NC. Not being from that area, we were unfamiliar with hotels in the downtown area. We choose the Holiday Inn Center City for our rehearsal dinner location and for all our out of state family and friends to stay at. FANTASTIC EXPERIENCE!! Rooms have been recently remodeled and were very nice with very friendly housekeeping staff. Beds were extremely comfortable. We used the Cafe Siena located in the hotel for our catering. Excellent food and staff. Event room we had reserved for the dinner was ready on time even though an event had been held in the room prior that day. Very well organized and anything we needed at the last minute all we needed to do was ask. Our event planner for the dinner was only a phone call or e-mail away during the 3 month planning period. Robin was very professional and a pleasure to work with. The dinner and stay was wonderful. All our family and friends were very impressed. Would not hesitate to return to Holiday Inn Center City.
