A bad experience; wouldn't stay there again!
Made advance reservations (6-mo ahead) for a non-smoking room close to entrance/exit and elevators because I am semi-handicapped and have a problem walking. Gave the desk clerk my name and reservation number when checking in and she started tapping computer keys and shuffling paper with no comment; reiterated the request for a room as close as possible to the lobby, an entrance/exit and to the elevator but desk clerk made no response whatsoever. Finally handed me a key and gave me a room number - first and only thing she had said to me during the whole check-in process. A bellman helped me with my luggage and escorted me to the room, which, as it turned out, was in the 2nd Tower behind the Casino Tower and for which you had to walk completely through the casino, past the buffet and 2 restaurants, coffee shop, gift shop, pool, and up two long ramps just to get to the elevator; after our hike, we took the elevator to the 6th floor to find that the room she gave me "closest" to the elevator was around the corner and 3/4 of the way down a long hallway. The bellman even asked why they hadn't put me in the Casino Tower - the closer of the 2 towers to the lobby and casino; I told him I had no idea. Finally, after a "3 mile hike" we got to the room only to find that neither of the key cards given to me would open the door; the bellman tried them both several times then said I'd have to go back to the front desk to have the cards replaced with ones that worked - I had already far exceeded the distance I can walk without a problem and could not face 'hiking' all the way back to the lobby! Thankfully, the bellman offered to call the front desk about getting new cards issued and he went to the lobby to pick them up for me while I sat on a small sofa near the elevator to wait for him. He came back and we went back down the hall to the room again - only to find that the 2nd set of cards didn't work either! This time the bellman called Security and had them get me into the room and then get key cards that would work. Uneasy about whether I'd ever get back into my room if I left, I decided to stay in the room for awhile, relax and watch TV for a bit. However, the remote control for the TV did not work and the control buttons on front of the TV worked only after pushing them quite hard numerous times. Also, while in the room, I noticed there was a light, but very distinct, smell of stale cigarette smoke though I was supposedly in a non-smoking room. All in all, a very, very bad impression of the hotel, which I had thought is supposed to be one of the finer casino-resorts. The bellman (James) was the only nice thing about this hotel! Needless to say, I won't be staying there again!
