Tropical Winds Oceanfront Resort Hotel, Daytona Beach

Had a great room and the view outside was spectacular! THe desk made us feel welcome and we talked to them everytime we left the hotel. Only thing i would suggest is booking this at SweetHotelDeals. N e t The rooms on there are alot cheaper then anywhere else

very clean and the room was very large we had the ocean view room, check in was smooth and the desk person was very friendly will go be in the future, the only thing that would improve the room would be to upgrade the tv to a larger model due to the spacious room size. Other than that I think this place is great.

Love the location, was not disappointed, the place is clean, very nice people work there, was everything that we expected for a little older hotel. I would recommend this hotel to anyone that is staying in Daytona that is looking for a good price, clean, friendliness, right on the beach...I hope to go back next year.

My boyfriend and I just had another great stay at Tropical Winds hotel. The staff is great..especially Gwen at the front desk. This was our third year,and we can't wait until next year. The rooms are always clean, the food in the diner is great and reasonably priced.

when i was in tropical wins 2009 2010 and will be in 2011 what i ove or like is that i made friends in 2009 there names are chris and david now mae even more friends and i love beach wow .

Parking around back was nice to watch vehicle, each ocean front room has a private patio w/furnature, double locking patio doors. Room had no odors & everything was clean. didn't use indoor pool, outside pool is a little small, cafe for breakfast & lunch "didn't use it, but afforadble & convient"

true, this hotel is located on the beach, with very beautiful ocean views. You honestly get what you pay for. The location in regards to shops, bars and other sites is a walk. About a mile and a half to two. The rooms are fairly clean and sanitary, but there are strong offensive odors in the hallways. We first got here and the lady at the front desk, who wears heavy teal eyeliner up to her eyelids was the rudest person i have met. We were checking in and her and another employee were talking about ordering lunch while we are trying to get our room key. Later on we asked her if she knew of a close place where we could get some sun tan lotion and she looked at us like we had just asked her the square root of something. there was some polite people there though, and that was the only reason i did not complain. You would think a hotel would want to accomodate their guests, but i guess not. I would not stay here again, only because of the location.. i am fairly young so it is quite a walk to the bars and shops.

There were only 2 friendly staff members in the whole hotel. The receptionist was nice, and the gentleman who ran the resturaunt for breakfast and lunch. Other than that, the rest of the staff looked at my wife and I like we were just a burden to be standing in the hallway. While getting our luggage out of our car, we could hear an employee on their cell phone complaining to management that they weren't paid enough, housekeeping rolled their eyes every time we walked by, etc. Seriously, if the staff hates their jobs that much, they should consider a new carreer field. The rooms were much nicer than the rest of the hotel in looks and cleanliness. While in the lobby I had to double check the sign to make sure I hadn't accidently stumbled into an out-of-date Motel 6. (I mean that as no disrespect to the fine employees/managers of Motel 6.) Seriously, if you ever go to daytona, stay at the Holiday Inn. Don't waste your money at this joke of a hotel.

When we got there it was 4:30 am and check in was at 2:00pm, but we were able to get our room plus an upgrade we were so excited our room was great and the view was wonderful, we will return in 2009 for our summer vacation

all the staff except for the late night REDHEADED receptionest was extremely helpful and very professional resturant great food rooms nice and well cared for will stay there again in october and febuary for bike weeks 2010 WON;T LET ONE UNPROFESSIONAL PERSON DEMEAN THE UNTIRE HOTEL STAFF BUT THIS WOMAN SHOULD BE FIRED BEFORE SHE CAUSES THE HOTEL TO LOSE MOORE CUSTOMERS OTHER THAN THE ONE EMPLOYEE I MENTIONED THIDS IS ONE FANTASTIC PLACE TO STAY
