Great Experience
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/22/09
I came and stayed with a cousin for an off site Wedding. I wandered the Hotel looking around to see the property. I only encountered lovely employees. I just mentioned that I was curious and the Hotel Banquet Manager gave me a wonderful tour. She and her assistant were all that is gracious and welcoming. Although I didn't have a party there and went elsewhere for a Wedding I would certainly recommend it. The guest room I stayed in was nice and the Front Desk staff was lovely

Noise problem & old
By Sherilyn, 5/8/08
We stayed at Crowne plaza southbury once for a whole week. Hotel exterior is fine but rooms which have not been refurbished are outdated with old furniture, our coffee table and drawers were chipped with cracks. Bathroom vanity counters are small. Hotel is close to the highway and the building had their bulk of rooms either facing the highway or facing their huge compressors, both had nonstop noise throughout the day. Also, room A/Cs were huge outdated units which generated astonishingly loud machinelike rumbling whenever in use. Housekeeping was varied, certain days they forgot to refill amenities and coffee. We did not see any of their staff smile from front reception to breakfast attendants to housekeeping, except for the bellboy when we gave him his tip.

Fabulous Place to Meet
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/21/06
I like the new renovations, they are hip and modern. I liked the free parking, the free wireless internet access, I liked the free coffee in the lobby. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The Quiet Zone was helpful and the bed was very comfortable. The meeting space was perfect as was the food served during the event I attended. I would definitely recommend this hotel as it was perfect for my company who have offices in NY and Boston..They gave us a fabulous rate as well!

Solid Value
By Robert, 1/16/06
This facility is well located for my business travel, and I stay here at least 4 times per year. The service is friendly and the rooms are very clean. Free use of the fitness center and pool is a plus. My only frustration is with their lack of late night room service.

Ideal Escape from the City
By efb811025, 6/7/05
I spend a weekend here with my significant other, and we were more than pleased with what we got at the Hilton Southbury. As HHonors members who travel around the NY tri-state a lot, we were instantly attracted to the cost of the Hilton Southbury, where we reserved an "alcove" room; similar to a mini-suite. A breakfast buffet was included in our reservation, and it was perfectly acceptable. The hotel's rural location is both a blessing and a pain. For a romantic escape, it's an ideal "runaway" spot. However, if you're dying to go out that night, Hartford and New Haven are a small trip. Originally from CT myself, I knew of nearby spots to keep us busy. As well, the hotel was kind enough to offer tips and reminders to us; including a note by our bedside reminding us of daylight savings time. Until the Hartford Hilton reopens, I would definitely stay at this location again. See my other reviews of the Conrad Miami and Hilton Montreal/Laval.

Southbury Hilton
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/14/04
The Hilton is a great chain but the Southbury location needs a bit of updating. The room was nice - a king with a sitting area - clean but a little outdated. Room Service - not so good, the order was wrong and they sent a faux wooden tray with a paper ice bucket - yuk. The BIGGEST disappointment was the pool. It was small - dirty and had old furniture on concrete. They advertised a hot tub which was against a wall - filthy dirty - tiny (oblong) and FREEZING cold. A real disappointment.
