Better than expected

The purpose of our trip was a leisurely, weekend tour of Los Angeles beach communities. My husband booked the room on the Internet and we knew the commitment involved. I was skeptical after reading some reviews and contacted Days Inn president’s office personally. We found the hotel on a major thoroughfare, not the best part of town, but certainly NOT "seedy" either. One of the first things I noticed was onsite security. Our room had been recently remodeled, was clean, the windows barred, and the neighborhood was quiet that particular weekend. Upon arrival and inspection, we did request newer sheets as those on the bed were very thin and pilled. Our request was responded to immediately. We stayed in a room with a jaccuzzi and it worked perfectly. TV reception was poor, but we were told they were having cable problems. We found the refrigerator, microwave, coffee pot, and a trip to Trader Joes sufficient for our needs. My husband was disappointed that Internet access was weak and riddled with security warnings, so he did not use it. For under $100.00 a night, it was a very good value in our opinion.
