Pool Area is the best in the Keys
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/08/09
Lagoon and pool was spectacular with all kinds of Kid friendly activities. The rooms at the Inn have been refurbished and compare favorably to the nicest hotel rooms that I have ever stayed in. The place is enormous with its own fishing village with shops and restaurants. Getting around by golf cart is fun for the family. Everything at the resort is first class.

Retirement Community?! Huh??? Not.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/03/09
Excuse me, but I am 36 and a member and full time resident of Ocean Reef. This is NOT a retirement community. Sorry to inform you, but elderly people reside EVERYWHERE in the world. There aren't any in your neighborhood? Glad to see someone like you won't be invading my home again. Go to Disneyland or visit the Twinkie Factory or the World's Largest Ball of Twine - something obviously more your speed. This is a very unique, special place - I guess not everyone is equipped to appreciate that.

I LOVE OCEAN REEF
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/28/08
I loved Ocean Reef. I am 14 years old and my best friend and I had many things to do all day. It was one of the best vacations I have ever been on- and I have been on many very good ones.

You don't always get what you pay for
By J, 02/29/08
The Ocean Reef Club has established a name for itself. Elegant, private, exclusive and expensive. With this reputation a guest would rightfully expect this resort to go above and beyond your typical Holiday Inn. Would we found was an average hotel nestled into a wonderfully maintained retirement community. Being an older facility located in the subtropics it is not surprising that the rooms are a bit dated and the humidity has taken it toll. This can not be easily avoided and a experienced traveler would consider it part of the ambience. What is more difficult to understand it the outdated and worn furnishings, the stained and threadbare carpeting, and the unrefrigerated minibar. Although I’m not much of a TV watcher we did attempt to rent a movie from the OnDemand screen. The remote control took some time to figure out but after about one half hour we had picked a movie and pressed the “Pay” button. Nothing happened, after several attempts we called the front desk. They informed us that the service was no longer available. An attentive staff/management would of done something ahead of time to avoid having there guest waste their time. OK, that was just one of several frustrations that we thought we were avoiding by staying at such an “exclusive” resort. Let’s just get down to the pros and cons. Pros: Beautifully landscaped and maintained grounds, pool and outside facilities. Very quiet and peaceful Staff was very friendly and accommodating The food was excellent Cons: Poor accommodations Hot tub shuts down at dusk! A $20 club fee for things you get for free at the Holiday Inn No in-room movies No in-room refrigerator Late maid service (3:00 pm) Conclusions: The Ocean Reef Club does not live up to it’s name or reputation. Compare it to the Sandestin Hilton in Destin, which exceeds all that the ORC can offer at half the price.

Heaven
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/11/07
This place is pure paradise heaven! We were lucky enough to stay at The Inn for a business meeting my husband attended. The room was very comfortable and luxurious, the service was impeccable and the staff is very friendly. Perfect place to go for a relaxing and pampered long weekend.

My favorite place!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/08/07
My family has been going there since the early 70's! I just recently started a family and can't wait to take them there. One of the most beautiful, family private resorts in the country!

Great family place
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/15/06
Excellent facility. We will return in the near future.Everything from dining to the shopping was first as the employees were very helpful and courteous. There are several golf courses that are perfectly maintained year round. We went fishing aboard Mr. Nice and caught 4 Sailfish near the end of our stay. Can not wait to return.
