This hotel has exceptional staff that will great you like you are royalty. The service is excellent and the rooms offer full entertainment. The breakfast buffet offered excellent food for everyones taste. If you need a meeting room they have one. Want a Spa or a fitness? You'll find one here. I'd definetly stay here again. The interior is elegant

Loved the large bedrooms and great breakfast buffet. Kids loved the pool and for American appetites, the breakfast buffet was great. DFS right downstairs was a plus and staff very helpful. Night club area was okay, but just out in the open. Concierge helpful.

definetly a 5-6 star hotel. Brand name shopping stores downstars below the lobby. Love the place. Comfortable atmosphere, everyone there speaks English! Will go back again.

My wife and I stayed at the hotel from 11/22 to 11/26/06 while in Taiwan on vacation. My overall experience was extremely positive. I had arranged for shuttle service by the hotel from the international airport. The shuttle was prompt and the driver was courteous. Upon my arrival, a friendly front desk attendant greeted me at the car door before I even stepped into the hotel, whisked me inside to the front desk, and proceeded to check me in all within a matter of 5 minutes. My luggage arrived at the room in minutes, accompanied by an extremely courteous bellhop. During the my stay, the positives were: an overall helpful and well-meaning staff, excellent food (dynamite breakfast buffet at the Brasserie), and spacious and comfortable rooms. The negatives were: an unimpressive and drab pool area, thick second-hand smoke in the lounge/cafe area, and non-smiling/stoic staff at the concierge desk. I was in general very pleased with my stay there. A very comfortable and enjoyable hotel. I would definitely stay here again on my next visit.

I liked the willingness of the personnel to help foreigners. Disliked that the telephone terminal is located near toilets. Also, writing tables are located just in the fron of air conditioners which can be the reason of getting ill. I barely eluded it. I think there is a need to furniture relocation in such rooms.

The food was incredible. Beautiful presentation and taste. Our room was very spacious and comfortable and I loved having bath salts and a fresh orchid in the marble bath. Room service was very responsive and timely. A closet for each of us was a real treat. The laundry service did a fabulous job. The entire experience was a once in a lifetime treat.

Over all, I loved everything this hotel has to offer. The spacious rooms and the beautiful bathrooms. The staff was friendly and reponsible.

We stayed at the Grand Formosa Regent Taipei from March 30 through April 6 2005. The two rooms we had were very spacious and comfortable. The hotel staff(with the exception of one concierge staff), were all friendly and eager to please. 'Timmy' is the name shown on his name tag ..... He is the rudest and most undignified staff we have ever met at a 5 star hotel. On March 31, Thursday we asked Timmy for the free shuttle service to the office and his reply was, ' I've never heard of this company!' then he turned to help some other guest and left us standing at the counter. A few days later we asked him for a couple of umbrellas to use; he took his time to get our room numbers and check us on the computer before he hand them over to us. On April 4, Monday at 7:30am I asked him if its ok to use the hotel phone to make a local phone call because I don't have any Taiwan money with me at the time. He insisted that a $NT10 to be charged to my room and I must provide him with my room number or I'll have to go to a pay phone. These are just a few experiences that we encountered with him. We spent will over $NT70,000.00 staying at the hotel but Timmy unwilling to let us make a $NT10 local call on the hotel phone. All of our experience with Timmy were very unpleasant and disappointing. We were also shocked at the lack of professionalism and rudeness of him working at this 5 star hotel. We found his service and attitude to be nothing better than second rate. It is worth noting that all other staff at the concierge desk were very polite and helpful. All in all this is a nice hotel however we prefer Far Eastern Plaza Hotel Taipei and The Sherwood Taipei for a true 5 star hotel service at about the same cost.

There are much better places in Taipei for the money than this. The service is amateurish...got worse with successive visits. Just lack of training...the people were nice and well intentioned. There is no true "bar" in this hotel and the area around the hotel is dead at night. Not a bad place...more disappointing.Not what you'd expect from a Regent
