This Hotel is located in a junkie neighborhood it is own by a very bad business man. He cleans the suits every other day so he says. the rooms are patched up from people that have damaged the rooms before, holes in the walls and the room stinks. Its way cheaper to walk up the street to the Travelers inn and rent a room from then for $50 and they clean the room everyday and treat you way better.

scummy area, nonstop hookers walking by all night. think they make use of the motel also as it's the cheapest around...if price is your only criteria then stay here - personally I'd rather spend an extra $20/night and stay at a decent place. This is like a 1-2 star hotel. Tim hortons,subway,and a chinese place next door. ABC and a couple pubs with good food 5 min drive away. standing on the upstairs balcony/walkway provides entertainment at night just watching the nasty looking hookers work and holler at each other, drunks get picked up by the paddy wagon, etc. - good for a laugh. I stayed for a week and the room was never cleaned, had to request towels etc. Doors had an actual key rather than the keycard - gives you an idea of the age. Internet connection is intermittent, better in some rooms than others. Overall experience - I'd rather spend a little more and go somewhere that I know hasn't had hookers in the bed etc.

We stayed here 25 years ago when our children were with us and we thought it would be fun to stay there again now that we are in our 60's! We were very happy with our experience two weeks ago. The room was spacious and clean, we enjoyed using our wireless computer in the lobby. We could get a connection in our room but it was low and we had to sit close to the door. There was morning coffee and the staff was very friendly and helpful. We asked about a nice place we could walk to for breakfast. There are two nice places nearby. If you aren't looking for plush then this is the perfect place for you at a reasonable price. The queen size bed was very comfortable, the TV had a crisp perfect picture, and the bathroom had a full tub. We were quite shocked at the prices of other places just a couple of blocks away! Stay here and spend your money on something you can take home with you!!

We needed a motel room for 2 months (with our cat). After checking prices with several motels, we found The Scotsman very reasonable. This motel is in a great location too. The owners and their son were very friendly, and did everything they could to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Thanks!

Friendly owners and clean rooms with free hi-fi internet, but the building sits right on the busy Gorge street so if your room faces the street you'd need ear mufflers. All rooms with kitchenettes face the Gorge street. The quiter rooms facing the courtyard have no kitchenettes. Rooms on the second floor are very hot in the summer.

The motel was great! Very clean rooms, friendly owners. Perfect for people who are looking for inexpensive overnight (or extended) stays. Of course, for the cheap price, don't expect to have cleaning people or internet connections. This is a highly recommended place, and not too far from the downtown area either.
