I liked the computer
This was the cheapest hotel, my husband and I stayed in during our recent vacation but considering that its a Super 8 and located in a small town, right off the Interstate, we didn't expect grandeur. For the money,it was fine for the two of us. The room was small, the pillows were "ok" but overall the hotel was clean and neat. What I liked was that while the hotel did not offer internet access (we did not have a laptop computer with us anyhow), they did offer a computer, in the lobby for guests to check their e-mail. I liked that option since I hadn't been able to check my e-mail for the entire week, we'd been on our trip. I was also able to send an e-mail to our daughter, who was at home, telling us when we'd be home.
So that amenity, I will give 5 stars!
My husband and I left at 6 am so did not take advantage of the continental breakfast offered. Apparently, that option was not available until 7 am. So I cannot rate that.
Wall, SD is a small community, most well known for Wall Drug, a tourist attraction of some notority. Places to get food are limited....there are a couple small restaurants in Wall as well as a restaurant in Wall Drug itself, which doesn't open until 7 am. The one restaurant, where we ate dinner indicated that they opened at 6 am. There was also a Dairy Queen, a couple blocks from the motel which offered the usual fast food items as well as ice cream.
This hotel is owned/operated by a local couple. He is a rancher and she apparently runs the hotel. She was personable and asked if the room they had reserved for us, was ok. It was on the first floor, just to the right of the lobby. We didn't have any complaints with location but she indicate the option of a different room, if we wanted it. She also inquired, after we had checked in, if the room was clean and if we were satisifed with it.
For a basic room, to spend the night, this served our needs adequately. The bathroom is narrow...only a limited space for hand/face washing or shaving for the men. The tub is narrower or seems narrower than most tubs. But as I said, it serves your basic needs. For the price, it was fine.
