Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham Omaha, Omaha

When we first walked into our first floor room I was surprised at the musty smell. So I turned on the bath vent. We left for a wedding. When we returned the smell was gone...but found several little worms (millepedes I think( crawling on the tile in the kitchen area and bathroom. We picked those up, but more were soon back again..and again...just couldn't take being on bug patrol in our $100 a night room anymore and called the office. They moved us to a second floor room..but still had the thoughts of worms in my head and had a hard time sleeping. Don't think I will ever stay there again.

The experience was excellant from beginning to end. The staff was gracious and accomodating. The buffet food (breakfast and dinner) was amazingly good. The suite/ rooms are large, the bed was very comfortable, and I just felt very much at home the entire time I was there.

I have been here at the, Homewood Suites, in Omaha for three months now. Due to a fire, and all I can say is this, I am totally amazed at what every employee here contributes on a daily basis. The girls that clean the rooms are secound to none. They do an excellent job. Things you wouldn't even think about were clean, and of course they are so very nice. The maintenance guys, are always on the job, if you have a problem, they are at your door in minutes. Now, for the front desk personell. From the moment you wake up, til the time you go to bed. They are cleaning, taking care of guest, and other duties nonstop. Rodney, Irwin, Carma, Kaoro,Travis, A.J., Jason, Sara, and anyone I may have missed are just the nicest and the most friendliest people I have ever encountered at any hotel period. Cori, the General Manager, is the first GM I have seen to actually wipe a table down, while always asking how you were and smiling the whole time. If most companies had General Managers like Cori, they would have to cancell employee insurance, because they would all get Diabeties due to the fact shes just so sweet. I'm very impressed. I can really only say that everyone of the employees here, and gained my complete admiration, and up most respect. I ahope that they will recieve the recognition they so deserve. Also the meals here are great, these gals can seriously cook, I've gained over twenty pounds. lol. In conclusion, Homewood Suites is by far the best stay in Omaha, NE.

My family tried this place at Christmas because we've had so many problems in the past with Doubletree Inns & Suites (which is up the road). Homewood is way better. It's laid out like an apartment complex, which means it's quieter than the average hotel. The suites are very spacious. There's a full-service kitchen in every suite, complete with dishes and utensils. There's in-room coffee and microwave popcorn. There's also free drinks in the evening and free breakfast. The day we stayed there, they had the following for breakfast choices: breakfast burritos, sausage, potatoes, cereal, bagels, waffles, juice, soft drinks, and coffee. Plus, they had to-go containers if you wanted to bring the food back to your room. There is an outdoor pool, but no indoor pool.  There's also a fitness room. You get a lot of bang out of your buck for this hotel. I highly recommend this hotel if you have family that you're traveling with (they also offer a two-bedroom suite).
