Comfort Inn Sioux City, Sioux City

The cliff notes: We have been staying at the Comfort Inn every time we made a trip to Sioux City. When I checked in the young woman at the desk didn't listen to anything I said. Every time I have stayed I was given the same rate for a room with two beds, a refrigerator, microwave, and a fan. She refused my regular rate. I should have walked out. We had no refrigerator, or microwave. The bathroom was not stocked, and things were not cleaned. The pool room had no towels. I made a trip to the service counter to request towels, and the young woman rolled her eyes at me, turned to the guy she was having a personal conversation with and says ‘SEE!’. A guy behind the counter said he would bring some towels to the pool room. There were three pillows on one of the beds, we didn’t get our fan, and the bedding had a smoky smell to it. We left the hotel cleaner than it was; I am rather disturbed by that. I was charged 81 when I usually pay 61. This is ridiculous! The General Manager was not available. Never again!

Staff was very friendly. Had cookies in the afternoon. Breakfast was good, all of us found something we liked. Wafflemaker, bagles, boiled eggs, coffee etc. Close to lots of shopping, and easy access to highways. Room was clean, and parking was well lit. Pool and hot tub were very well maintained and very clean. Only detraction was no elevator. We stayed at Hampton around the corner last year, but decided to stay here this year as was cheaper. We were just as happy at Comfort Inn.

I stay at this hotel 2-3 times a month on business. They always have fresh baked cookies for me at check-in, the staff is extremely friendly and more importantly the rooms are always clean.

We booked this motel through Expedia and showed up to find that our double non-smoking room was in their computer as a smoking room. There were no non-smoking rooms available. Suspiciously, this happened to be a weekend when there were basketball and softball teams in town and all motels were sold out. We will never stay at this chain again!
