Convenient and Reasonably Priced
We travel from Southern California to Napa at least a couple times a year. Usually going north via Interstate 5 and returning down 101 or 1. Recently we started breaking up the boring trip north by staying somewhere along 5. Santa Nella seems to work out fine as there are a couple of nice places for dinner and a few chain motels to choose from. This time we selected the Holiday Inn Express.
I normally do not stay on the ground floor, but it was late in the evening when we arrived and our requested `upper level’ room was not available. The room we received was close to the office and somewhat convenient to parking. It was reasonably clean. The A/C unit was a bit noisy, but leaving a window open was out of the question, so we endured the noisy fan. Next morning we were greeted by a power outage. Our wing only. Management cut our rate by 50%. That was fair.
Grabbed a cup of coffee from the Spartan ‘breakfast bar buffet” and we were off to Napa!
We might stay there again if it fit into our travel schedule, but there is a bit of adventure in variety, so maybe not.
