Nice Place and Location
By Chantalicious, 7/29/08
This hotel has great location its in the middle of everything. We only had to take a cab to the casino, everything else was in walking distance. We went for a bachelor party with Ten guys and got Two 2 bedroom suites. 5 in each room, and we partied in one room and had plenty of space with ten guys in one room. We were slightly loud and rowdy but had no problems with the staff. But they make you sign a "party wavier", but I did'nt read it. Great time and very good place.

A very nice place to stay.
By D, 9/20/07
I was very pleased with Hotel Le Cantile Suites. The location is ideal for single travelers. It is conveniently located within walking distance or a Metro ride away from most attractions and restaurants. The accomodations, although not luxurious, are clean and fairly spacious. The bedding is very soft and comfortable. The bathroom is small. The kitchen, however, is a good size with an apartment sized refrigerator, stove, but no microwave. There is a $50 fee for cleaning the kitchen if you do not leave it exactly as you found it. The elevators are very small. Beware, two large pieces of luggage and two adults are about all that will comfortably fit into the elevator at the same time. For whatever purpose, both the balcony door and the windows were painted shut. For those who are wanting to stay at a quiet hotel, this might not be the hotel for you because of the street traffic. From the 10th floor front suites, you can clearly hear car traffic, emergency vehicle sirens, and garbage and trash collection vehicles. These sounds were most noticeable beginning at 7:15a. However, after 10:00p, into the wee hours of the morning, there was barely no outside noise heard in my suite. In respect to general housekeeping, the hotel is clean. However, in respect to detailed cleaning, the hotel could benefit from a good, thorough heavy cleaning to enhance its appearance. I so enjoyed my stay at Le Cantile. It was just steps away from academic, cultural attractions, entertainment, dining, public transit, public parks and much more. The staff is friendly, helpful, and extremely accomodating. Hotel le Cantlie Suites is a very nice place to stay.

Go somewhere ELSE!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/20/07
Didn't love my stay here! Check-in is at 4:00 pm and don't bother calling for an early check-in the staff answering the phone was quite rude. I pre-paid breakfast while booking my hotel and someone on staff chased me down accusing me on skipping out on the bill. Gimme a break! The executive rooms have a kitchen, the kitchen is in a closet! There was construction behind the hotel in front of the parking lot...the hotel smelled like it was on fire...even from the 22nd floor! It's a 3 star hotel not 4. At the price I paid I should have stayed at the Ritz or the W Hotel.

What a Great Stay
By John S, 8/7/07
I stayed at the hotel with my wife and two young daughters in July. We were all quite comfortable in our executive suite. Overall I would say that the hotel is a bargain given what I've gotten for more money at other hotels. The staff are helpful, the rooms are spacious, and the location is perfect. We walked each night in a different direction for dinner and found ourselves to be within a 5-10min walk of some great spots in Montreal. We traveled with family and the hotel had no problem making sure our rooms were close together. The staff were also helpful any time we needed some tips on restaurants, shopping, directions, etc. The kids loved the roof-top pool (so did I) and the parking is a breeze. Yes, you will pay $20 per day for this, but this is normal for any city hotel. The staff in the garage were always pleasant and helpful with directions. I had some fears given some of the stuff I had read on the various sites, but can tell you that they are unsubstantiated given my stay. I would gladly stay here again. Enjoy.

Do not stay at this hotel!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/6/07
This hotel promotes itself as a 3-4 star, but the service is that of a 1 star at best. We had a horrible experience. Plus, when we complained, the hotel refused to acknowledge that any of our complaints were true. 1. We had a suite for 4 people and were charged extra per night for this. This is fine, but you have nerve not leaving one towel per person. They left us 2 towels. I spoke to the maid to tell her there were 4 of us, she said we could only have 3 towels and she gave me one extra for that day only. Then she left us 2 each day. We had to scavenger the maid's supply closet every day for clean towels while she was attending to another room. Do you think this is relaxing for a guest???? Every day, she got 4 dirty towels, but it clearly didn't occur to her how they got there or that she should leave one for each guest. This is STANDARD to leave a clean towel for each guest. This is not unreasonable. Why are we charged an extra charge if you are going to treat us like this?. 2. One of us is pregnant. She told the hotel this and asked for 2 extra pillows because she needed them to sleep, and the hotel said no! Two of us forfeited our pillows to her so she could sleep, which means two of us didn't get any sleep during our stay. In a 3 star hotel, if a guest asks for extra pillows, the hotel should provide them. This is not an unreasonable request. 3. We almost ran out of toilet paper, and the maid did not leave a roll when she cleaned the room. 4. The fridge did not keep anything cold. 5. The room AC did not work and the windows don't open so you suffer. 6. There was duct tape on the remote control. 7. There are 28 floors and only ONE ice machine in the entire hotel. 8. Our 4th person was sleeping on the sofabed and we had to call the front desk 3x to get sheets and a pillow. After the towel/pillow experience, we hid the sheets and pillow each day in the closet so we wouldn't have to beg for it each day. 9. Garbage trucks make a ton of noise very early in the morning and we heard them on the 6th floor. This is not mentioned in the hotel website. 10. Upon checkout, I asked to speak to a manager to discuss these matters and the desk clerk paused, said "um" a lot, and then said the manager just happened to have stepped out. How convenient. I think many people complain and this is what they do to avoid hearing how much the hotel stinks.

Best Deal.
By delldude405, 6/17/07
This hotel is very very clean, the maids were always prompt and did a thorough job, clean sheats every other day, floor swept, trash emptyed, ect. I would have no problem comming back just on how clean the room was. The bell boys were very able and tennitive, They seem to always be expecting a tip though. The folks at the front desk were very helpfull and had a great knowledge of the city. There is parking provided in a safe underground garage, but there is a $20 a night charge. I had no problem paying this because I know the car was safe and not sitting out for any potential damages. The valet guys can help you out if your not certain where you are going. The location of the hotel is very well. It is located only two blocks from Peel metro station, and only four blocks from rue crecent

Good Hotel Stay in Montreal
By MarkM, 3/22/07
The hotel was situated right near the 'action' of Montreal's St. Katherine Street which made for great access. This also made for a very busy hotel with lots of people in their 20's looking to party. The hotel made you sign a document saying they had the right to make you leave if there were noise complaints (we fortunately didn't experience any of the noise!). Overall, a great price and very comfortable stay.

Not Recommended
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/21/06
I would not go back to this hotel. Every staff member I saw or dealt with seemed to be pissed off about something. I don't think I saw a smile on anybody. The room, while large, had an awkward layout and was shabby and dated. Red carpet with peach wallpaper - ugh! My room overlooking Sherbrooke St. was very noisy all night. The Continental Breakfast buffet at $10 had low quality choices and service was poor due to lack of staff. Checkout was 20 minutes since only one person was doing checkouts and handling the switchboard. And all the people ahead of me seemed to have questions or arguments about their bill. The lock on the door was hard to open, the door stuck and the suite had some haphard repairs done inside. I could not be comfortable in such an ugly and shabby room.

excellent
By LisaS, 8/7/06
I enjoyed my stay at this hotel for 2 nights! The rooms were very clean and the location was fabulous! It could not have been located any better. We were right in the heart of downtown with shops and things to do at every corner! I highly suggest one stays here!

A++
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/13/06
Loved the location and the friedly staff. The rooms were spacious with lots of room to store your belongings. The Metro is down the street and the parking in the hotel was great with the SUV that we arrived in. Not all hotels are able to park our SUV. The dinning in the area was fantastic as well as the roof top pool that gave a great veiw of the island. Can't wait to visit again.
