Hallmark Inn, Davis

The price was right. A "free" full bar from 5pm to 7pm made the stay an awesome value! I woke up too early for the free breakfast. The bartenders were all so friendly and smart, especially Maya. I slept on the railroad side of the building and didn't notice the trains at all. Maybe it was the free bar? Ha ha! Walking distance to everything you will ever need while you are there. Seasons next door makes a killer New York Steak! I will stay there any time I'm in the area!

This hotel is nice, clean and comfortable, except for the fact that it is next to a railroad track!  The trains go by all day and night, sounding the whistle.

The Hallmark Inn has potential to be very good; however, the maintenance seems to be lacking. 4 out of 8 light bulbs in the room were burnt out. The lever on the toilet was so loose the nut is about read to fall off. The most important to me though was that the advetised high speed internet did not work. I complained to the front desk very early in the stay about the internet but it was never fixed. One other room in our group had the same problem. Having said all that the common areas of the Hotel are in good shape the continental breakfast was great and it is in a very nice location.

Price is right, plenty clean enough. Coming from Eureka, CA I can't live without the pool. The service is excellent. The breakfast is one of the best. This motel is in the heart of downtown Davis and is in walking distance of just about everything close to the campus. I've never been concerned about security even with a van load of student type stuff.

This hotel is located in downtown Davis. It has free underground parking, is near restaurants and stores, and a movie theatre is across the street. On the down side, the Amtrak station is across the street. Hence, some rooms are noisier than others. I have stayed here several times as my son was a student at UC Davis. Everything is expensive in Davis so be prepared. I usually find a good price on this hotel with enough lead time. Most of the other hotels in town are next to the freeway and are also $$$ for what you get. It has a nice breakfast area and is well stocked.
