Dirt Roof Inn
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/28/10
We stayed here one night while on a bus tour- This place was filthy. The floors were nasty, the furniture looked like something you'd find at a flea market & it was sticky.I was afraid to touch anything, We were uncomfortable the entire time we were there. Had we been in our own car -we would not have stayed here. Even the furniture in the lobby was dirty.

An Inn that is free from imperfection
By Dave, 5/7/10
We been vacationing in Lancaster for roughly about 4-5 years. We come here often for the S&S and AMT. The Hotel, Lancaster Host, is where we usually stay and it had no vacancy so I looked on-line. I found that "The Red Roof Inn" had one, so we made online reservations plus gave a phone call to the Hotel, to make sure we will have the first floor because of my disability. Let me tell you, that it was by far the best experience we have had overall. We are big with convenience due to my disability. When I looked online, Red Roof Inn had couple bad reviews and that detered us initially, but then got lazy and booked it anyway. To our dismay, we were completely taken by the view they have in their backyard, the hot breakfast with WAFFLES and the courteous staff. We took a stroll to the Inn's backyard, they had picnic tables and outdoor bar opening soon sign up. When we spoke to one of the staff, they said they'll have a bar there within several weeks. While we were sitting on the table, we saw a horse pulling a plow as they get ready for the crop this year. Clear blue sky, beautiful weather, perfect picturesque setting. I couldn't be anymore content. Since we normally always stay at the Lancaster Host, we don't have anything else to compare it with. Therefore in comparison with the Host, the price was better than Lancaster, personalized service, better view, small but better amenities. BEST THINGS COME IN SMALL PACKAGES!! This is how our trip went: When we entered the hotel the one young girl there was very sweet to us she got our name and handed us the room key very quickly letting us know the breakfast timings and the location of the room and where to park. The normal front desk dialogue exchange. I usually don't stay at motels, but I decided to give it a shot. I was greeted with friendly smiling faces at the front desk. I was quickly checked in and given the key to my room. My room was surprisingly clean! I am highly allergic to dust and I did not need to take my medicine the night that I was there. I also did not hear any noise from the adjacent rooms. It ended up being a quiet and tranquil night and I only spent $90 dollars! IT WAS GREAT!

Terrible Experience
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/28/09
My parents just returned from the Red Roof Inn of Lancaster and they had a very bad experience. They said that the rooms were filthy dirty and that the customer service was even worse. My parents were not happy with their room because it was so dirty, so they asked management for a refund and told them that they were going to stay elsewhere. The manager refused to reimburse them their 144.00. Needless to say, they did NOT stay there. Please, take my advice, do not stay here. My parents are good people and would not complain unless they had good reason.

POOR FRONT DESK SERVICE/ DIRTY ROOM
By ryck, 4/22/09
This was the worst stay at a Red Roof Inn I‘ve ever experienced. I would never stay there and my advice is find another hotel on Lincoln Hwy. 1. I stood at the counter for 5 min while (SHAY) clerk was training someone before they even acknowledge me and when they did there was no reservation for me. I told her I booked it online and I would like the online rate. I was told I had to book it online again if I wanted that rate. 2. I had planned to stay two days but the carpet and room were not very clean. I call the front desk the next morning and told them I was checking out and the same girl questioned me about why I was leaving. 3. Checking out at the front desk and I guess it was to much for her to get off her personal call to check me out. POOR SERVICE

Beware of added charges
By WendyS, 1/15/09
I've stayed at the Red Roof Inn's before and this one is NOT of the same quality. Charged an extra $240 for additional pet charges which were charged without authorization. No notice of additional charge was given on check in or by any material at the desk. Pets were declared on reservation, on the telephone when I added additional night and on check in. This charge was refunded via Corporate Red Roof. Room was not cleaned on two of four nights stay. Garbage was not removed when room was cleaned on one of the nights. Room needs remodeling and carpeting needs cleaning attention. When a friend went to the room that she was given she found the door open and a large fan drying out the carpet from an air conditioner leak. She was given a different room. The most negative experience was being yelled at by the manager at the front desk. I was surprised and taken aback by the behavior. Service Excellence is not practiced at this Red Roof.

Please stay away
By mitalp, 8/7/08
Please take note of all the negative reviews. We stayed at this hotel last week. We used to stay here when it was a Mcintosh Inn. So we stoped by for old times sake because this hotel was always clean. What a dissapointment..... The manager Kay would not accompany us on any matter, She was very rude. for instance. we asked for an extra pillow she didnt even check to see if there were any and just told us no tehre are no pillow. She handled most questions rudly. And would also refuse for a housekeeper to clean our room when we checked in because the floor wasnt even vaccumed.... We will never stay in this hotel again.

Dirty Bed Bugs
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/29/08
Our trip to Lancaster and our stay at this dumpy hotel was terrible. We were given a room that was moldly and had bed bugs. When we talk to the staff. They were very rude and did not want to change our room. We would have checked out but there was no rooms in the area. Believe me we will never stay at another red dump again. This place has really gone down. Staff that don't care and hotel that is run down. There are plenty of other nice hotels in Lancaster and next time we will be staying else where !!!!

Stay away/Bugs in hotel !!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/15/08
We will never stay at this hotel again. There must be new management and everything has gone down hill. It use to be a nice place but now it has turned into to a dump. Bugs were in the room, especially in the beds. The carpet was dirty. The staff was very very rude!! We will not be staying at this place again, we will try our luck at other hotels in the Lancaster area.
