Such a major disappointment
After several years, my hubby and I HAD to go on a vacation and just get away. Vegas has always been lots of fun for us so we looked foward to going back. We were excited to be staying at the Excalibur since we've never stayed there.
Needless to say, from the moment we arrived at the check in desk, it was one disappointment after another.
First they claimed they didnt have the room we reserved available. (smoking, upgraded) BUT were willing to give us an upgraded upgraded room and as a show of kindness they wouldnt charge us the additional 20 dollars a night more for it.
Well, the room was smaller than shown on the website, the air conditioner was literally less than 2 feet from the bed, so you froze everytime it turned on. But the worse part was that our room was right next to some kind of machine room and we were on the top floor. So every half hour this very large machine sound would kick on and wake us throughout the night.
Sherwood Cafe is closed and the hotel is not offering anything in it's place. You are constantly bombarded by time share people. You hardly get off the elevator from your room and they are chasing you down.
And let's just say that the hotel staff need a refresher course on hospitality. My husband got screamed at by a dealer because he was winning (and subsequently so were the other folks at the table) and I guess it ticked the dealer off. Seriously, who holds with a 3 card showing playing Black Jack. No one! The dealer had a 7 showing, and the dealer must hold at 17 so of course you want a hit.
The food at the buffet was passable but certainly not for 15 dollars a person for breakfast, 17 p.p. for lunch and 20 p.p. for dinner. At that price, they should at least bring you your drinks since they still expect a tip.
Tournament of Kings was a major disappointment. The food as overcooked and dry. And honestly, I paid the same price at Midieval Times and had a better time, the servers wore period like clothing as to Excalibur the servers wore white shirts and black pants.
Honestly, dont waste your money there. Maybe they will get the hint and do something.
It's overpriced, rude service, poor service, and not worth the money. I would recommend staying somewhere else on the strip.
