Will be returning
By WICKED KISSES, 1/24/12
Stayed at the Excalibur Jan. 20-23, 2012. The location is great. I was able to casino hop to and from New York New York, Luxor and Mandalay Bay. There is a bus stop in front of this hotel which is convinient when exploring the strip. The check in/out people were polite and helpful. The rooms and beds were clean however before getting comfortable I did check for bed bugs to which I did not see anything unusual. I did not eat at any of their restaurants other than the fast food places. I really did not want to spend a lot on food. Overall I enjoyed my stay at the Excalibur and will be going back.

WORST VEGAS EXPERIENCE EVERRRR!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/19/12
DO NOT STAY HERE!!! Have any of you ever noticed that there aren't any security cameras in the elevators or hallways?? I didn't until over $1800 worth of items were taken from my hotel room Saturday night between 11pm and 4am. I'm convinced that this was in NO WAY a random act or theft and the hotel/risk management is not doing a thing to prove otherwise, even though they have "proof" that it was by fault of my own. Pay the extra $20-$30 stay in a nicer and newer hotel with more advanced technology and SECURITY!!!!!

Worst Vegas hotel?
By Ian, 1/18/12
Just returned from my 4 day stay at Excalibur and it was by far my worst experience in Las Vegas. I usually travel to Vegas 2-3 times per year and decided to try Excalibur as an inexpensive alternative during a very busy convention week (CES). From my initial walk into the room (Air not working, cover removed, used deordant stick on the floor) to the terrible noise every morning from 2-4 am, to hotel security arguing, then fighting with, then tazing a guest in my hallway, it was absolutely the worst stay I've had in Vegas. Take out the outside circumstances of people with little respect of others, and the room itself was dirty and not well maintained. So much for upgrading to the widescreen room... The front desk "manager" was no help, stating that "It's Las Vegas, it happens". Shame on you MGM Resorts for letting a property slip this far. Maybe it's time to switch my alliegance to another brand other than MGM when I travel to Las Vegas.

Terriable experiences at the Excalibur
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/17/11
I didn't like the Dirty,Bloody sheet that was on the bed the first night we checked in! Housekeeping was called and sheets were changed but that should have NEVER happened to a guest. Also an employee who seemed to have some sort of personal problem offended ont only myself,my daughter and sister while trying to buy a soda, but the lady who was in the store(by Tower One) in front of us. An incedent(voluntary statement) was made to manager on duty.Didn't seem apologitic.

Such a major disappointment
By RK, 10/16/11
After several years, my hubby and I HAD to go on a vacation and just get away. Vegas has always been lots of fun for us so we looked foward to going back. We were excited to be staying at the Excalibur since we've never stayed there. Needless to say, from the moment we arrived at the check in desk, it was one disappointment after another. First they claimed they didnt have the room we reserved available. (smoking, upgraded) BUT were willing to give us an upgraded upgraded room and as a show of kindness they wouldnt charge us the additional 20 dollars a night more for it. Well, the room was smaller than shown on the website, the air conditioner was literally less than 2 feet from the bed, so you froze everytime it turned on. But the worse part was that our room was right next to some kind of machine room and we were on the top floor. So every half hour this very large machine sound would kick on and wake us throughout the night. Sherwood Cafe is closed and the hotel is not offering anything in it's place. You are constantly bombarded by time share people. You hardly get off the elevator from your room and they are chasing you down. And let's just say that the hotel staff need a refresher course on hospitality. My husband got screamed at by a dealer because he was winning (and subsequently so were the other folks at the table) and I guess it ticked the dealer off. Seriously, who holds with a 3 card showing playing Black Jack. No one! The dealer had a 7 showing, and the dealer must hold at 17 so of course you want a hit. The food at the buffet was passable but certainly not for 15 dollars a person for breakfast, 17 p.p. for lunch and 20 p.p. for dinner. At that price, they should at least bring you your drinks since they still expect a tip. Tournament of Kings was a major disappointment. The food as overcooked and dry. And honestly, I paid the same price at Midieval Times and had a better time, the servers wore period like clothing as to Excalibur the servers wore white shirts and black pants. Honestly, dont waste your money there. Maybe they will get the hint and do something. It's overpriced, rude service, poor service, and not worth the money. I would recommend staying somewhere else on the strip.

Move Along, Nothing to See Here!! Save your money!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/27/11
DIRTY rooms, dirty Hotel, $12.50 daily resort fee gets you nothing (no Wi-Fi even though we were told it was included), Overall bad experience. Apparently they upgraded our room only FREE, however the upgraded room had cracked tiles in the bathroom, gross nasty caulking in the shower, and a partial thermostat on the wall. They cut a section out of the A/C cover to allow access to turn on and control the A/C. There appeared to be vultures at every corner trying to sell you something or give you "Comps" in exchange for attending a 2 hour tour of one of their new developments. Valet staff was prompt and courteous which was the one positive!! Too many options in Vegas to have to deal with this, stay elsewhere!

My stay at the Excalibur
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/19/11
I wanted to see Sade in Vegas so we got a good deal from a travel agent, which happens to be a friend. I know not to stay in the trashy hotels like Circus Circus. I never stayed at the Excalibur, but I always wanted to because I like castle look. NEVER EVER STAY AT THE EXCALIBUR! From the moment we arrived, there were problems: The baggage staff was awful they were more interested in their conversation instead of assisting us. Since I have medication that requires refrigeration, I called before we checked in to inquire about a refrigerator. I was told that the hotel would waive the fee for medication and I asked if I need Dr’s note. I told no. At check in, I was told the Excalibur doesn’t waive any fees for medications. The manager asked like I was trying to get something over on them when I told what the rep on the phone told me. I didn’t get the refrigerator, but they charged my credit card for it. After I acted fool, they took it off. Our room was filthy, the bath mat was trash (ripped), the vents had never been cleaned, the furniture was old, and the chairs were soiled and faded. We Lysoled that room to death. We also used bed bug stray because they are on the list. They probably do have bed bugs because not much cleaning goes on. I made them come clean the room. They did offer us an upgrade, but they wouldn’t provide additional bed bug stray or more Lysol. Because we sprayed the room for all kinds of things, we knew the room was disinfected and we didn’t trust any of the other rooms. Glasses that we didn’t used stay outside of room for 3 days until I called the front desk. I told by one of the managers that we had problems because we were in a basic room. I asked her “doesn’t a basic room deserve to be clean too?’ NEVER EVER STAY AT THE EXCALIBUR!

Excellent Hotel!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/20/11
The staff was friendly, the hotel room was clean and tidy. We got the cheapest room available and we were happy with everything. Not sure what other reviewers were expecting at one of the cheapest strip hotels available. I went to the hotel expecting less, and ended up surprised. The resort fee was disclaimed to us on our booking site and wasn't an issue at all. Shouldn't the other people contact the site they booked through about that? It's clearly written in RED when you try to book through excalibur's website

Stay Away!!!
By Kevin, 8/14/11
This hotel was the worst thing about our trip to vegas. It's because of them I will never stay at another hotel on the strip unless it"s a five star!!! Blankets had stains on them, sheets were dirty and the bed was lumpy! We complained and given another dirty room! They ruined our trip!
