Letter to Excalibur
By ,
Dear Sirs, I was quite shocked when, upon checkout, I was billed an extra 19 plus dollars for each night I stayed. You seem better than that. You had three ways you could have gone with the extra charge; state to the guest up front that there will be a fee, include the price in the room cost, or three and, unfortunately the route you've chosen, to ambush them when they are checking out. It really is shady and beneath you. Let's put this another way, say you rent an apartment and you sign a lease with the agreement that you'll pay monthly rent, water, sewer, and garbage. You move in and your landlord tells you that you will be paying an extra $100 a month for 'land use fees'. I imagine no one would be happy with this arrangement and both the local government and the BBB would be involved I respect honest practices and so do many others, please rethink your practices. Thank you,

Stay here, eat somewhere else!!!!
By ,
To be honest, I chose this hotel because of the price, so I could afford spend extra on shows and other things. The room was clean, comfortable bed, AC working properly, very fast wi-fi and large bathroom; the staff was very helpful and corteous; but so far all of this is what you expect from a decent hotel. We went to the buffet for breakfast and that was awful, $16 woth of crappy food. Soggy pancakes, watery syrup, funky tasting coffee, watered down orange juice, RAW PORK sausages. Bottom line if you want an affordable hotel very well located on the strip, walking distances to all what is in Vegas to see and do; this is your choice. So stay at Excalibur, but eat somewhere else.

NOT HAPPY WITH MY STAY AT EXCALIBUR
By ,
I was very much disappointed with my stay at the Excalibur Hotel and Casino. When I first arrived I was told that you charge a $15.00 per night resort fee. I did not know that you were a resort, of course its in the small writing. The rooms were not very clean at all, even though I supposedly stayed in the newer part of the hotel ( I would hate to see what the old part look like). On my last day, I was locked out of my room for about one hour (the three keys we had didn't work). I had to wait on security to come and let me in. And to top that off, I was ignored when I went to check out. One of the workers asked me if I wanted to check-in, I said no this is the check-out line and I want to check-out, he preceeded to wait on the people checking in and the rest of the workers did the same, leaving me standing in line to check-out. I got there attention very quickly after about 5 minutes of ignoring me, I expressed my disgust with them and vowed that I would never return to that hotel again. Not only will I not return, I will not recommend Excalibur to anyone. I think it should be one of my best kept secrets. I have begun the process of telling people never to spend money or a night in your hotel.

Nice place if they could get their act together!
By ,
We chose Excalibur because we were getting married and loved the facilities! It is not a top of the line hotel but our room was clean and well kept. We had requested a room with a king sized bed and when we checked in and went to our room, there were 2 double beds. We did get changed to a room with a king size bed. One other issue we had was that our keys didnt work in the doors and for a few days everytime to get into our room we had to get security to let us in. Turned out even after they got a lock smith there, the people at the main desk were giving us the wrong keys. That is just stupid that you don't check before you hand them out? Otherwise once we got settled, it was clean, we had a nice view from the 15th floor, and the staff was very good. Yes, by all means we would stay there again! There were lots of places to eat, lots to do, many gift shops, just not a top of the line place. We basically slept there and it was nice, well worth what we paid.

Will not stay there again
By ,
After moving from room to room three times due to noise, bath sink not connected, a/c not working. The casino was filthy. The only good thing about the place was the maid, housekeeping service, and the people who checked us out.

Best hotel for your money!!
By ,
My husband and I just visited Vegas last week and stayed at Excalibur. We loved it. We took the city bus around, and we had bus stops right outside of the hotel, so the location for the hotel was awesome. We definitely felt like we fit in at the hotel, unlike the other hotels you feel too dressed down. We loved Dick's! (restaurant inside the hotel) It was so much fun. We did visit other restaurants at other hotels. Nothing compares to Dick's. The pool at Excalibur was great. I was worried about other reviews talking about time share people constantly bothering you. It wasn't too bad, we learned quick who to avoid lol When they tried to talk to us, we just kept walking or said no thanks. Other hotels have time share people too. There is no way to avoid them at all in Vegas. Our hotel air was never cool enough for us but it wasn't bad. There was a miller lite beer on top of our light fixture when we arrived, and was never thrown away day after day with housekeeping... My aunt stayed in another room and put the "change sheets/replace towel" sign on the pillow as you are suppose to. And somehow the sheets never got changed (since the same rip in the corner was there night after night) We hung out at the Luxor for the buffet mostly, it was far better than Excalibur. We purchased the 2 buffets, all day thing for Excalibur, and Luxor and would recommend that to everyone! It is such a great deal, and we did that a couple days. The smoking at Excalibur was not bad at all during the day. At night, it wasn't as bad as the other reviews made it seem. We went to the tournament of kings, that was awesome. We just wish it wasn't so expensive. We even bought it at the discounted ticket booth on the strip after going to the box office in Excalibur and finding out how high it was so we saved a quite a bit going through the discounted ticket place that is located everywhere on the strip. I would recommend using them over buying tickets from the hotels. We would most definitely stay at the Excalibur again, we had a wonderful experience. We seen almost every hotel, and you would not regret this hotel! We were never in our hotel room, the lack of housekeeping didn't really bother us. If Luxor was the same price, or close to it (as it could be at certain times on yahoo) I would pick Luxor for the nicer hotel rooms, and hang out at Excalibur! They have trams that go back and fourth all day from Mandalay Bay, Luxor, and Excalibur. Hope my review helps you out on your decision!

Will be returning
By ,
Stayed at the Excalibur Jan. 20-23, 2012. The location is great. I was able to casino hop to and from New York New York, Luxor and Mandalay Bay. There is a bus stop in front of this hotel which is convinient when exploring the strip. The check in/out people were polite and helpful. The rooms and beds were clean however before getting comfortable I did check for bed bugs to which I did not see anything unusual. I did not eat at any of their restaurants other than the fast food places. I really did not want to spend a lot on food. Overall I enjoyed my stay at the Excalibur and will be going back.

WORST VEGAS EXPERIENCE EVERRRR!!
By ,
DO NOT STAY HERE!!! Have any of you ever noticed that there aren't any security cameras in the elevators or hallways?? I didn't until over $1800 worth of items were taken from my hotel room Saturday night between 11pm and 4am. I'm convinced that this was in NO WAY a random act or theft and the hotel/risk management is not doing a thing to prove otherwise, even though they have "proof" that it was by fault of my own. Pay the extra $20-$30 stay in a nicer and newer hotel with more advanced technology and SECURITY!!!!!

Worst Vegas hotel?
By ,
Just returned from my 4 day stay at Excalibur and it was by far my worst experience in Las Vegas. I usually travel to Vegas 2-3 times per year and decided to try Excalibur as an inexpensive alternative during a very busy convention week (CES). From my initial walk into the room (Air not working, cover removed, used deordant stick on the floor) to the terrible noise every morning from 2-4 am, to hotel security arguing, then fighting with, then tazing a guest in my hallway, it was absolutely the worst stay I've had in Vegas. Take out the outside circumstances of people with little respect of others, and the room itself was dirty and not well maintained. So much for upgrading to the widescreen room... The front desk "manager" was no help, stating that "It's Las Vegas, it happens". Shame on you MGM Resorts for letting a property slip this far. Maybe it's time to switch my alliegance to another brand other than MGM when I travel to Las Vegas.
