Looks can be deceiving
By gregk, 08/25/09
I took my wife here for our anniversary. The place looks very nice and is a nice hotel...However..If you are a member of the golf course then you have free reign to use the pool and amenities of the facility. My wife and I went to this place to get away from our kids for a day and a half and we were surrounded by kids. I went to the front desk and asked the lady about all the kids and her response was "all the kids are staying in the hotel with there parents".. outside by the pool we talked to a few couples with kids and they are not staying in the hotel they are members of the golf club..... Besides the food being way overpriced and not much for the money..make sure you watch your final bill compared to what you might think your total out of pocket is supposed to be. My room rate they charged me was $50 more than I agreed to. WATCH OUT FOR THE MAID SERVICE.. AFTER WE CHECKED OUT MY WIFE RELIZED THAT SHE FORGOT SOMETHING IN THE ROOM. SHE WENT IN TO THE ROOM AND WITNESSED THE MAID PUTTING THE SAME COMFORTER ON THE BED THAT MY WIFE AND I SLEPT ON. SHE WASN'T CHANGING THE COMFORTER FOR THE NEXT GUEST..SHE WAS GOING TO LET THEM SLEEP ON THE SAME COMFORTER THAT MY WIFE AND I SLEPT ON. MY WIFE ASKED THE FRONT DESK IF THEY CHANGE THE COMFORTER BEFORE NEW GUESTS ARRIVE AND THE FRONT DESK SAID YES.. THE CUSTOMER SERVICE IS TERRIBLE AND THE VALUE YOU GET FOR THE MONEY IS WORSE. I WOULD NEVER GO TO THIS PLACE EVER AGAIN.

Stay Away!!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/10/08
If you are looking for a nice place to get away for the weekend this is not it. The price you pay does not come close to the quality of service they provide. Most of the staff is rude and apathetic. It was almost like they felt they were better than you because they worked there. The rooms are small, dark and have no amenities in them. If you call a bottle of water an amenity then maybe this is the place for you. Your view outside of your room is extremely limited. You are either looking at a roof or the parking lot. You can find a more romantic and cozy resort for way cheaper or for the same price you can find something much better than Lansdowne. On the bright side the doorman were great and very helpful. Other then that Lansdowne Resort is a joke.

It was awesome.

We stayed here during the summer of 07 twice during the Jass Weekend specials and we had a wonderful time. Great service from valet to room service. A very nice place nestled in wonderful Lansdowne, VA.

I like the fact that it is so close to home, but when you are there, you feel like you are actually away on vacation!!!

solid business class hotel. a bit isolated
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/05/06
nice grounds. competent staff. cold weather. 7 miles to nearest mall. Middle of an office complex. not convenient to DC downtown. room comfortable...small and dark.

Loved it
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/10/06
Gave my husband trip for his birthday and included golf lessons. Beautiful course, excellant accomondations, great dinner. Sat by the spacious pools while he played. truely relaxing. Staff could not have been more professional.

Not bad, but too expensive
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/09/05
Way too expensive for the amenities. Room seemed a bit small (and it was a corner room). If you don't golf, look elsewhere.
