LOVE Grand Champions!

We went to Maui in Oct. '07. We rented directly through the owner, which allowed us to see lots of pictures of the unit we stayed in. I felt comfortable dealing directly through the owner, and not a company that wanted to assign me a room without me seeing where we'd be staying. In this age of the internet, those days are gone, where you go in blindly, and hope for the best. I found going directly to the owner also saved us money.
#166, had a view of the golf course and the ocean. The furniture was new and comfortable. The carpets had been replaced the week before we arrived. I was most impressed with the fact that it was clean, and had a feeling of someone's home, and not some forgotten rental.
The grounds are well-maintained. The complex is quiet, and away from the road noise we had experienced in another complex, on a previous trip.
I enjoyed the fact that there is a "quiet" pool, and a family pool. We all enjoyed the nearby beaches, and were glad we had a car to travel and see different places.
Nightly walks found us at Lappert's for ice cream, in the shops at Wailea. The weather was beautiful.
While we were there, we met another family who was staying in a unit across the way. Their unit was also nicely decorated. But, they mentioned that their previous trip had them staying in a unit that was outdated. So, I am guessing that if you take the time to narrow down your choices to units you find attractive, you will enjoy your stay as well.
