Admiral Fitzroy Inn, Newport

Staff super friendly, clean rooms, great cont. breakfast. You couldn't ask for a better location, beautiful rooftop view of the harbor. We visited late September, mid-week and were lucky enough to drive by and take a chance on rooms available and very reasonable rates.

The inn is deceiving from the street....in that it is not impressive. The room we stayed in was very nice and clean, even had it's own balcony. Can;'t see but a splotch of water, but who cares. Good breakfast,and accomodating innkeeper. We lived it

I'm a true New Englander and for the record, we love staying at A.F. Inn. The staff are helpful and friendly. The price during the off season is great. Rooms and bath are clean, and we love the breakfast room. We have been going for the past few years and would not change, that is, during the off season.

reminds me of a mini french chateau. breakfast was charming. watching the sunset from the roof top is a must. Excellent location, close to all attractions. free parking was a plus.Staff was warm, friendly, helpful.

Stayed here last summer and planning another trip this summer. It is very clean and the people were nice to deal with. Newport can be a mob scene in the summer and this place was a nice homebase for all of the tourist activities.

Location was key - able to walk everywhere Owners were wonderful, always available Breakfast was great

Spent allot of time in New England beach towns. I stayed at many of the places listed. I found that the self service no aminities turns first time vistors to this hotel away from a great deal and location. The funny thing at the high priced luxury condos or hotel rooms in Newport and most RI beachs are relaxed and self help every where.The alure of this location is the natural beaches. I constanly say,"Newport" is the place to go if you want New england charm" Mansion Tours are intense one after another on the same street. You really get a feel for old money. (Do not forget your scuba shoes It is very rocky) I find Newport to be very fun without children.It is extremely crowded and young.
