Super 8 Big Spring, Big Spring

We stayed over the holidays and where worried about the reviews before checking in. To our surprise it was a very clean property. The front desk clerk notified us of new management and that the hotel was newly remodeled. Would definatly stay here again.

We stayed here over 4th of July weekend.Upon arrival I was told that if I paid cash for the room instead of leaving it on a Credit Card there would be a $100 deposit charge(not mentioned when making the reservations.)The room was not even a little clean.Would have asked for a different room but didn't figure any of them were clean and it was late already.After taking a shower and stepping out on a towel- I was walking around the room for about 10 minutes when I went to get in bed I realized my feet were black from the filthy carpet- so bad it was actually sticky!Bathroom floor also gross! When we checked out and complained the person basically didn't even care and went right back to checking us out.Wanted to get rid of complaining customers as soon as possible! Way too much money for 1 night in this dump!

They gave us a smoking room when we had requested a non-smoking room, and then told us that was the last room. Our room was right by the stairs. People were yelling all night. Then the train comes by every hour all night. The maids banged on our door around 9:00 asking to pickup towels when we were trying to get ready to check out. I finally told the maids we would be checking out in about 30 minutes to please come back then. This was the most expensive room--$100 for the worst accommodtions and also very loud and noisy.

Rooms were nice. However, I was there during the daytime and mornings were hectic. Why one maid could not do everything at once, I'm clueless. One would come get dirty towels, another would come get the trash and if we were lucky that day another one would make the bed and clean. I guess if you stay more than 3 or 4 days they don't figure you need your room vacuumed, dressing area or bathroom cleaned. For some reason they have a towel shortage. I had to go more than once in the evening to front desk and get towels. They'd take the dirty ones and not replace them. After we'd been there over a week, we got a message the room we were in was going to be renovated and we had to move. So move we did only to find out there were no renovations. There was an oil convention in town and our room was for them. That would've been fine, but I do not care for someone to lie to me. After being there over a week, I concluded the place was a three ring circus and the people did not communicate to each other. We made reservations for others coming to town, go to front desk and they'd know nothing about it. The internet only worked sporadically and usually that was only early in the morning and at night. But on a good note, the breakfast was good and it is in a good location. People were friendly for the most part.
