Shooting in hotel the night I stayed

At 7:00pm there was a shooting in the room next to me. Two people were shot. When I called the front desk to see what was going on they would not tell me anything. I was worried and did not feel safe so I check out and went to another hotel.

in-room internet not functional

(Everything else was good about the hotel.) The in-room internet must be via ethernet. After being directed to the ISP tech support for a 45 min call, and confirming the issue was not my computer, we tested 6 different rooms and were unable to connect. Only when in the vicinity of the lobby's wi-fi were we able to connect after turning on the wifi again. The manager stated he connected using his laptop in our original room however he never entered the room while we were there and we went directly to the front desk after confirming it was not working. (We booked through Priceline so the price was amazing!)

Expensive and no free breakfast

This place is expensive, relative to other local rooms. No free breakfast like other Courtyards (buffet available at extra cost). Would suggest Drury Inn in Greensboro - free drinks, food, and more. On the plus side, the front-desk was helpful and provided free shaving cream, razor, comb, and deoderant. Plus, the room was nice and WSJ free in lobby. The management is making a mistake by charging for the small buffet breakfast and charging top dollar for room.

Why No Free Breakfast?

Marriot seems to like nickel and diming their guests and did not offer any type of complimentary breakfast. They did have a full hot breakfast buffet available for a price. The hotel is conveniently located about 5 - 10 minutes out of downtown Greenesboro. Their rate was also a bit high considering their location. For the price there are equivalent or better options, either closer to Greenesboro or with breakfast included. In the true Marriot fashion, the staff was very professional and helpful and overall I enjoyed my stay.
