Miss that place...
I went to Maritim Hotel Koenigswinter August 2005. I really loved the hotel. The location was very convenient. Just a few blocks down, there are numerous restaurants (I ate at two: an Italian and a Chinese; both were very good), clothing stores, markets, a bank, ice cream stands, etc. There is also a train right down the street that goes to any city.
The room I stayed in was one of the corner rooms and was huge. The beds were very comfortable and warm. The people at the front desk were nice. They sell stamps, exchange money, and have two phonebooths and a computer at the front desk. All staff members were always smiling at us and seemed very nice.
We also ate at the breakfast buffet every morning and at the dinner buffet once. They had a huge selection of different kinds of food. I always ate salami with the glazed bread for breakfast. They have a swimming pool, a sauna, and a gym on the lower floor. The pool water was at first warm, but you get used to it. Be careful when going into the sauna though. We saw an unclothed man who was not afraid to show his stuff to strangers.
I never heard of this hotel until this summer so I didn't know what to expect before we got to Maritim. It definitely surprised and amazed me. I strongly recommend this hotel to everyone. I hope this helped a bit! I'm sorry about my limited use of vocabulary.
