Wonderful Staff, Noisy & Disappointing Room
As I stated in other reviews, we have had the opportunity to stay at many of the area hotels, and this was one of them.
The staff was very friendly and accommodating, although the room was not ready until well after the 4 pm check in time.
Our one-bedroom suite was clean and spacious but dated. It included a dated kitchen area with a table and four chairs, perfect if you like to eat in your room. There was a living area with a couch, chair, table, TV and fireplace. This was by far the nicest room of the suite.
The layout of the bedroom and bathroom were not very convenient. You had to go through the bedroom to get to the tiny, tiny bathroom, which did not work well for us since we get up before and go to bed after our children.
The bathroom counter top had been updated and looked very nice, but the cabinet was old and was being held together in one place by staples. We jokingly called the room the Frankenstein Room.
We planned to visit Disney that evening but instead decided to take a break and enjoy a calmer afternoon in our room since it was already so late. Those plans were given a serious blow when shortly after getting to our room the two boys in the room upstairs began jumping off of their bunk beds. This persisted for several hours that afternoon and also occurred the next morning beginning before 7 am. The building was also not soundly built as the sound from the boys running from room to room seemed to be magnified through the floors.
All of the above may have been tolerable, except that the beds were worse than sleeping on the floor. You could feel every spring of the hard, cheap mattress through the one inch mat they placed atop it in an effort to make it more comfortable. Not one member of my family was well-rested the next morning, and we probably would have slept much better on the sofa and chair in the living area.
One of the highlights of the stay was that breakfast was included in the stay. There was a limited selection of fruit, the ability to make Belgium waffles, a large bowl of yogurt (not individually packaged), bagels and items for breakfast burritos.
Also, to get to breakfast the next morning we had to pass by the housekeeping carts, which we noticed had been staged with clean linens and such for the next days work. Somehow that was a little less than comforting to us.
The name of the hotel is a bit misleading; it is not as close to Disney's main gate as it implies.
For a comparable price there are other places where you could stay much more comfortably. You won't have the full kitchen, but you will have a small refrigerator, microwave, full breakfast and MUCH nicer accommodations. We cut our stay short and left the very next morning. After all, you can't enjoy Disney when you are overtired and grumpy, can you? : )
Unless you have to have a stove and refrigerator I would suggest a different hotel.
