what a view!

We checked-in in the middle of the night and still then, the staff was more than willing to ensure that we would be comfortable. They allowed us to view and decide on the room we wanted. After spending a night in the chosen room, we determined we wanted to change again, and again, management was more than happy to appease us and upgraded us to a room with a Nile view, and what a view it was! Our thanks go to the entire staff and in particular, to Mr. A. Mohammad.

The only place to be in Luxor.

The Hotel is perfectly placed with views over the Nile.The Staff, Food, Rooms, Cleanliness and Amenities available were faultless the three times we have visited Luxor. Gus.

We stayed in the Sheraton Hotel Luxor from 5 nov 07 to 19 Nov 07. The place is absolutely marvelous. The studios were very spacious and kept very clean and in an ideal location right near the new swimming pool. The hotel itself was immaculate, the food was lovely plenty to choose from at breakfast and evening meal.The indian and italian located on complex also very nice. The staff were very pleasent and welcoming they couldnt do enough for you. The situation of the hotel was great, the views of the river nile are unbelievable. I would recommend this hotel to anybody not a bad word to say about it, i cant wait to go back in the near future.

Disappointment

After a fantastic cruise and stay in Cairo, which was all rather hectic, we looked forward to our hotel stay in order to relax. However, our room was small (no real problem) but we were unable to enjoy relaxing on our balcony in the evening as our view at the rear of the hotel was obsured by trees and a walkway - I was unable even to view the sky! Drink prices were extortionate (a small glass of milk cost English £2.80). Another guest's pool bill was added to our account (he had left the hotel by the time it was discovered!) and some friends also encountered a problem of demands for an already paid bill. If you wish to use this hotel insist on a Nile view on upper floors - NOT the first level. I would not recommend the Luxor Sheraton Hotel to friends.

Not recomended...

The cleaning service is very annoying as we saw the cleaners doing the room nextdoor to us we went out for the day 4 hours later ,when we got back they still had not cleaned our room! The pool is quite nice but beware of big yellow wasps! The food is nice but do make sure you do not get one of the bungalows theyre dirty and have damp all over...Staff are cockey and do not care would not reccomend to anyone.

A holiday of a lifetime!

My friend and I spent 2 weeks in Egypt from the the 17th to 31st of October, week 1 on a Nile Ccuise (the RA 2- FABULOUS) and the 2nd week at the Sheraton in Luxor. I can not speak too highly of this hotel, everyone from the gardeners, pool attendents, cleaners to the restaurant staff, reception and bar staff were courteous, helpful and most of all cheerful and anxious to make our holiday as memorable as possible, which they certainly suceeded in doing.Our room ,in one of the bungalows, was comfortable, clean and handily situated for easy access to all amenities with views over gardens and pool. I would definitely recommend tiis Hotel and would certainly revisit.

sunrise to sunset.

we also spent our holiday here whilst renovation work was ongoing but felt little disruption, we were thrilled with our nile view and the sunrise and sunsets were breathtaking, they will stay with us forever and made our holiday extra special. the staff around the pool area could not do enough for us ,we would love to return when the price is right again for us. one downside!!!!the walk into town was made impossible by the hassle from town folk trying to make a living, understandable but very frustrating. manchester, oct2006 middleaged couple

wonderfull

The Sheraton Hotel is just brilliant, the staff, from the cleaners right upto the relations person are just perfect, nothing to much trouble for anyone the pool staff always make sure you have sun shades over you and even come and alter them as the sun moves around. There is nothing I can say bad about this hotel, only if you are planning a trip to Eygypt then try the Sheraton Hotel I don't think you will be disapointed.

I have just spent a week at the Sheriton and was quite disappointed with some aspects of my stay there. I did feel the food in the main retaurant was a bit pricey as were the drinks in the bar. We sometimes had to wait ages in the morning to be offered coffee/juice and often had to resort to going to find a waiter to serve us - not acceptable from a 5 star hotel. The one redeeming factor was the DJ,he had my friend and I up dancing every night and not to forget Tarik (?) the bar manager what a lovely man. Will I stay again - probably not. I love Luxor it is like a second home to me and having spent a day at Al Moudira during my stay for lunch/drinks etc I can't understand how the Shereton justifies charging such elevated prices when a hotel such as that does not!

Never again to Sheraton Luxor

Luxor is one of the most beautiful places i have been to. Definately worth going to and seeing the valley of the kings and the Luxor temple. In that respect our trip was fanatstic. However, the Sheraton Luxor is one of the worse hotels i have ever been to. i can imagine it being one of the nicest hotels in the area but that still doesn't make it good. In fact the hotel ruined our good memories of Luxor. It's very, very old. Seats outside are dirty and the bar snacks are served half eaten. The Italian restaurant was not bad and service was good. Our roon was a bit of a horror and our bathroom was terrible, old, stained, and not that clean. The corridor of our floor was dark and dingy and had not seen a hoover for years. Views are fantastic but beware of ordering drinks at the Nile cafe, our glasses were filthy and service was terrible. Only go to see Luxor and try and blank out the hotel experience.
