Howard Johnsont Inn-Airport, Roanoke

I checked in and went to my room. It was really run down. There was a drawer front missing from the dresser, expandable foam seemed to be holding in the a/c (which didn't work that well) and when the door was closed, there was a crack along the door frame that let the light in! The toilet was dirty and overall the room was not clean. After about 4 hours of sleep, the battery in my smoke detector started chirping. I called the front desk and their solution was to take the battery out leaving me with no smoke detector!! They offered me a new room, but this was 5 hours before my wake up call and I began to wonder if the room they were going to move me to even had a battery. I ended up leaving and checking into the Super 8 next door.
