Dreadful!
By Cindy B., 08/08/08
Tacky, dirty motel. Far overpriced for what you get. Don't wait for service - it's slow, slow, slow.

Fastest check in and out in history!
By John, 07/29/08
The check in was quick and simple, the gentleman behind the desk greeted me with a smile and checked my room reservation. He said that there was a small leak from the A/C unit in my room and there was a drip and could I deal with this, otherwise it was a nice room. I went to the room after passing several rooms bagged in plastic and the open doors with a man laying on his bed in almost nothing (should have got the hint then). Entered the room and immediately saw the leak, puddle of water on the floor, soaked drooping tiles in the ceiling. Seen that the room floor was not or has not been vacuumed in a day or more. The furniture was pushed in the corner and covered in fuss/dirt. Pulled the bed spread back and found no blanket in the room, a wrinkled sheet so worn you could see through it and covered in knots, and to top it off there was hair all over the sheet! Also, there was no mattress pad, sheets not tucked in. The bathroom, the bathroom had a shower tube that looked every bit of 30 years old and every bit as worn. No drain plug and the commode could have been wiped down from the last person that could not raise the seat. Trash in the bathroom could have been emptied of someone snot rags, but hey, I was not going to take a shower in there anyway! I did stop to look for the hairdryer that we called about to make sure that there was one in the room (it wasn't) but would probably have been shocked if we plugged it in with the water on the floor and carpet! Sorry I cannot tell you more about what my wife and I found in just the five minutes or less that we were in the room. The humor is that as we exited the room we saw the clerk standing outside the office. He greeted us with a smile and just asked, "Are we ready to check out now?". In total with check in and out we were not at this Econo Lodge more than 15min. and most of this was in the office. I must say, the clerk was friendly and expedited everything for us to get us out and point us in the direction of other hotels in the area!

Find Someplace Else , This Place is Bad
By Noah For President, 07/26/08
Room was somewhat clean with a terrible odor (musty) Outside of building was dirty and unkept. Front Desk person spoke very littel english. Could not operate credit card reader. Room in bad need of repair. Many rooms rented to families who live there permanently. Didn't bother with Breakfast as overall the lodge was not worth staying there. Neighborhood has an extremely high crime rate. I would suggest spending the extra few $$ to stay somewhere else. Overall experience was poor.

By Blair, 08/06/07
The AC's didnt work. I was not the only customer without air. I was going to stay for 3 nights and with in 15 minutes demaneded my refund to go to another Hotel since they only offered me a fan. Well that did it. Elderly people had fans, this was NOT exceptiable, is this is how you treat our elderly and military? This management did not CARE............

Customer service
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/10/07
I was staying here at the Econo Lodge one weekend for my husbands Naval Graduation. The customer service was outstanding and the location of the hotel is perfect!

U really need to know this!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/24/07
I did not even stay it was so dirty!!!! It is a bad place!! I got a hotel room that was $80 that was Amazing and it was only 5 more than what they wanted at the Econo Lodge. They have bugs in that place(Coach Roaches). And the neighborhood is really bad they lock up the front doors with chains and pad locks. So take my advise and do not stay there even though it might be close to the Navy base it is not worth it unless you really like it dirty!!!!

Never again
By Kimberly, 05/23/07
There was no service to speak of. The room was superficially clean, but had a bad smell. The wallpaper border was peeling. We asked for a room change for my aging Mother-in-law and were told that there were no dounstairs rooms available and that we should have thought of that before we made our reservations. We noted many empty downstairs rooms that were not rented the entire weekend.

By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/12/06
i was there for my daugther's graduation from the Navy boot camp. We had 3 rooms reserved. We had a little bit difficulty finding the place but we called hotel and staff helped us out with directions. Over all experience was good. A few shortcomings but neat rooms, and friendly staff.

Not a good experience
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/14/06
1) I did not see anything about internet access in the description, I called and was told they had wireless. They did, but you had to sit in the lobby to use it. 2)The continental breakfast was cold cereal, dunkin donuts and apples. Jelly and peanut butter was available but nothing to put it on. You had to buy your coffee. Mine was so bad I dumped it in the street. If there is a pot hole in the left turn lane heading toward Great Lakes, it is my fault. 3)It took forever to get into the room. They have card readers and it took 15-20 swipes to get the door to unlock. Not a good thing when it is cold or late at night. The night manager said that it was fine. Easy for him to say when he is sitting in the office./ 4)The water in the shower was variable temperature, and not by choice, it was hot, it was cold. It was not pleasant. 5)We were there for 3 days, the bed was made the room was not vacuumed. Towels were placed on the chair by the door rather then in the shower. Not a big deal provided you realized this before you got in the shower. 6)Their was a large gap between the outside door and the frame, I wonder how secure the door really was. 7)The picked the place due to it location (near NS Great Lakes). Will not go to an Econo Lodge again. 8)The sofa in the room was uncomfortable. 9)If I wanted to use the table in the room to do paperwork, there was no lamp by it or on it. 10)There was no clock radio. 11)If you have kids, no nickelodeon or TVLand
