Over charged and harassed! Rude front desk!
By ccwilliams, 07/13/09
We checked into the hotel assuming they would honor our online quote of $66 a night and they overcharged us at $172.52. When we decided we didn't want to pay they charged our visa anyway and we fought with the front desk who failed in contacting our credit card co. to void the charge. The charge remained even after I got home a week later and I will have to fight it. I tried to contact the manager but was sent to her voice mail. I never got a follow-up call. The woman who originally charged us didn't even get up from her computer. She just waved us on without even looking up. We found an adorable room for a little more money, but was willing to pay a little more not to have to deal with the woman at the front desk again! The decor is very outdated and you have to walk directly in front of the registration desk every time you go to your room. The two front desk girls were complaining that one of the woman's mother kept calling. I have traveled extensively and never been treated so poorly! We then told them we were going to check another hotel and the girl at the new hotel acted like she expected us and was just as rude! Then I found out they also charged our card without us even giving it to them which suggests the girl at the Parkway had to have given them our visa account number. There is no other way those charges could have existed. When we had to return to the Parkway the next morning to get this cleared up, they, at first, said they faxed the information to the credit card company. Then when I called the visa company and they said they never received it, I again called the Parkway and was told they reneged it because the amount was in dispute of 150.00 to the actual amount charged which was 172.52. I don't understand how they can charge my card at all when I didn't even stay at their hotel? I understand they have to put a hold on the funds to reserve the room, but we were a walk-in and they still charged the card. Please don't even consider this hotel an option! The have made a mess of my credit card and I stood in the lobby for 15 minutes tops! There are many beautiful places to stay in Jackson for the same if not a lesser price!

Love it!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/21/05
This was an excellent place to stay. Perfect location within walking distance to town square and all the wonderful shops. Breakfasts were wonderful as was the staff. They also have a pool with jacuzzi, which we never used, but it's a nice touch. Acutally going back to Parkway in two weeks. Loved the area so much we bought a home. Won't be staying at Parkway after this trip but will certainly recommend it.

For Location You Can't Beat The Parkway Inn
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/14/05
If you want to be close to it all then Parkway Inn is your place. The service was excellent. The rooms were very clean. It gave you a feeling of staying at your grandmother's house. The decor has a very old feel to it. My only complaint was the cost $200+ in the Summer. If you can get a better deal than I did then I highly recommend it.
